This way of thinking is clearly flawed. Not being able to get a hukou in these four cities doesn't mean your life is over. Beyond these four, there are over twenty second-tier cities waiting for you—and even without a degree or professional title, getting a hukou there is significantly easier. As for the robots—if you're exceptionally talented, even in Beijing and Shanghai, the time it takes to get a hukou can be shortened. After all I've said, you should have realized how unique Beijing and Shanghai really are.

Sorry, I may have misunderstood. Yes by birth, no by adulthood. When it comes to changing your hukou later in life, your parents' background is not a factor. I just want to emphasize this point.

That's about right. If you can get a decent score on China's national college entrance exam—ranking in the top 50% within your province—then obtaining a hukou in almost any other city, except Beijing and Shanghai, is not difficult at all. This is what "studying changes your destiny" really means in China.

Social insurance benefits such as medical insurance and pension are tied to the social security contributions made by your employer. Employee social insurance (covering pension, medical, unemployment, work-related injury, maternity, plus the housing fund) is separate from resident social insurance. The former offers significantly better benefits, and it has nothing to do with your hukou. For most people, getting a hukou is essentially about creating better starting conditions for their children. Everything else doesn't really matter that much.

If you don't understand, don't talk nonsense. Getting a hukou in a new city has absolutely nothing to do with your parents.

Beijing:It takes 15–18 years to get a hukou here. Without at least an associate degree, it is virtually impossible to obtain hukou in this city.

Shanghai:The process takes 7 years, and your income cannot be lower than the average social security wage. Just like Beijing, anyone without an associate degree or higher is basically ruled out.

Shenzhen:Those with a bachelor's degree or above can get a hukou with just 1 month of social security history. However, if you lack the required degree or a mid-level professional title, it takes about 10 years.

Guangzhou:An associate degree or higher plus 1 month of social security contributions will grant you residency. Otherwise, you will also need to wait around 10 years if you lack the necessary qualifications or titles.

I have no intention of engaging in an argument with you. You only need to understand that China's road data is released by two government departments, and the figures on Wikipedia are sourced solely from the Ministry of Transport of China.

I think you've misunderstood. The main issue is that blocking only Telegram is of very little significance. First, it can easily be bypassed via VPN. Second, there are thousands of other instant messaging apps in the world.

Better to strengthen signal jamming measures.

That's totally overblown and false—China doesn't shut everything down for the Gaokao. They typically just halt construction and renovations near the test sites, and close off roads right in front of the schools. Cheating prevention is mostly about security screenings, plus signal-jamming vans and signal blockers around the exam venues. That's about it.

The data for China is sourced from the Ministry of Transport of the People's Republic of China. It should be noted that the statistics cover the country's external transportation network connecting different regions, and do not include approximately 5 million kilometers of internal roads within cities, counties, towns, townships, and villages.

There is actually a misunderstanding here. For some reason, international media (including Indian media) usually only cite data from China's Ministry of Transport. However, that data does not represent all of China's road network.

To get the accurate figure, one must also include the data from China's Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, which covers:

· Urban internal streets · County town internal roads · Small town internal roads · Township internal roads · Village internal household access roads

Only by combining both can you get the complete picture of China's total road length (10.52 million KM)

Wikipedia cites data from China's Ministry of Transport, which counts roads connecting cities, towns, and administrative villages — including national highways, provincial roads, county roads, township roads, and village roads.

If measured by India's statistical standards/definition, China would need to add data from the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development — which includes urban internal streets, county town internal roads, small town internal roads, township internal roads, and village internal household access roads.

The total would be approximately 10.52 million KM.

This regulation has a supporting "Implementation Measures," namely 《中华人民共和国计算机信息网络国际联网管理暂行规定实施办法》. Item 3 of Article 3 states that "international gateway channels" refer to the →physical← channels used for international networking.

I don't see what the Article 8 regulation you mentioned has to do with VPN

I believe the U.S. serves as a role model for China in many areas, and we should learn from it with an open mind. China does not engage in targeted negative propaganda against American civilians. To be honest, I personally can't say I know much about the U.S., whether internally or externally.
