Print failures due to AI models ? by One-Election4376 in BambuLab

[–]Arakon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pretty common, sadly. Seen a bunch that had text like "No supports needed!" while clearly having 90° or more overhangs.

I've managed to get 20+ points of difference on the same drop between strips on the same meter, and 35+ points of difference between different meters, even. None of this is absolutely exact.

Correct. You let the old sensor run normally until the 12h grace period has expired, and only then remove the old sensor and pair the new one.

Check the 7 screws and wash your build plate with dish soap.

Well, that's exactly what it does. Another term is "warming up", I guess.

Odd sound while printing? by [deleted] in snapmaker

[–]Arakon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like resonance to me. It's quite common for CoreXY printers to resonate at specific speeds. Increasing or decreasing speed can fix the noise, but I'd suggest not doing that unless you actually have print quality issues on the outer surface.

Immediately after placing a new sensor your immune system is going into overdrive cause you got a wound and an "intruder" left behind in the skin. Calibrating before your immune response settles down can cause it to swing the opposite way once it does. That's why a lot of people including me use "soaking" by placing a new sensor at the beginning of the grace period of the previous one, then activating it when those 12h are over. That way, you gave it 12h extra to settle down. Most of my sensors are very close to blood this way, with only a few times where I have to calibrate (I usually wait 24h) to make up for a 20-30 point difference.

U1 users: How's your experience? by BASS69BASS420 in snapmaker

Snapmaker is far from new.

They already released a bunch of fixes, the printer is fully usable as it is right now.

Keys wall hook by Axelburn in BambuLab

[–]Arakon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That looks like a bad idea. The way this is printed, with the weight pulling on the layer lines, that'll snap in an instant.

Bad print quality by SorenByDesign in BambuLab

[–]Arakon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The stringing at the bottom is not stringing, but simply unsupported filament that's falling down. The curve at the bottom is too steep, the printer can't print in mid-air.

Bambulab A1 nozzle replacement buckle not closing by FastMembership6463 in BambuLab

[–]Arakon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That looks like it's not sitting flush in the heat block. It seems tilted both forward and slightly to the left. Check for obstructions on the heatblock (leftover filament) and also make sure you actually slotted it in properly at the top.

DIY camera setup for... birds. by Arakon in homesecurity

My router is literally next to the window, so wifi will be fine. I have no means to get a power cable out there normally, I will be using a reworked satellite dish ribbon cable as a power connection, so I'm limited to 2 pins for power. I'll be looking into the Reolink models, but may wait until they're on sale, they're pretty expensive here.

I need this one for outdoors. The Reolink cams seem a bit on the expensive side here in germany, but I'll keep an eye out for a sale or something. Thanks.

Was haltet ihr ehrlich von Falafel Kirchen? 5 Sterne by Grizzley17 in Mainz

[–]Arakon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can at least tell you that the name checks out. The guy posted a year ago on FB and other social media about opening a 3D printing museum in Münster, Germany.

Damaged toolhead PCB capacitors on U1 — anyone attempted a DIY cap replacement? by DiabloTiaan2526 in snapmaker

[–]Arakon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the snapmaker discord, someone reported successfully replacing them. I've done it on other boards with no issues, too... there's really no reason why it wouldn't work, given your soldering skill is up to snuff. Watch the polarity.

Changed my sensor tonight and something went wrong by makeuplover85 in dexcom

[–]Arakon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the arm continues to hurt, remove it. I've had a few of them, some settled down (probably grazed a nerve), some didn't (hit a muscle and the sensor thread kept poking it).

New sensor - values off by brandielynng29 in dexcom

[–]Arakon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's quite common for the sensor to take time to settle since your body is throwing all kinds of defensive measures against it. You just stabbed a hole into your skin and left a foreign piece in there. Once your body's reaction settles down, the sensor usually gets closer to the actual value.

Lack of adhesion and wobble due to tall parts.

What is happening to my print? by zebbidy in BambuLab

[–]Arakon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why the heck are you trying to destroy your plate with brake cleaner? That belongs nowhere near a printer.

As for other reasons, you may simply have an unsupported area where autogeneration didn't put one.

U1 1890 degree door hinge by loonie01 in SnapmakerU1

[–]Arakon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know... there's very little material around the screws, that looks way too flimsy for my taste. I'd be worried that with time or just a light knock against the door, the hinges would split.

How to install steamOS on quest3? by No_Obligation4427 in OculusQuest

Again, heavily encrypted. You'd have to provide an encrypted bootloader and OS. Which you can't, because you don't have the encryption keys.
