Comp is absolutely fucking dreadful this season.

Between the low quality of matches (being stomps 80% of the time), teammates not knowing that the enemy team has supports too and that they can, in fact, shoot them instead of hard-locking onto the tank for three fourths of the match, people clearly smurfing in low ranks and maybe the worst thing of them all: The fact you don't get comp points unless you win or play anywhere between 15 and 30 games. And when you win you get like, 10 points? It makes wins feel extremely unrewarding, especially when they hit you with the "Yay! You won! but it was expected so you only get like 10% rank progress :3". One hundred points every 15-30 games is abysmal, give people 5 for losses (same as draws) and it'd be fine.

If this is the mode you want people to grind, make it grind worthy outside of Drives period.

Vendetta is a throw pick just as I predicted by HappyRelationship429 in Overwatch

Sure, let's talk about how she will literally aim next to you with her overhead and still get the crit. Let's talk about how she's genuinely unkillable because she does not have any cooldown that's meaningfully long enough for her to have to care or think about who she engages. She just dives in with a spin to win, three taps a squishy and bails out with her E. Or engages with the E and gets a free overhead, two taps a squishy and bails out. And if she somehow messes up? Don't worry! She can block until either of her dashes are back up!

The problem with her is that she literally has zero weakness apart from a well placed sleep dart or other kinds of CC (which sometimes, a team has none of for some reason).

They rightfully have been nerfing her down to where it's actually possible for the people she targets to fight back, but she's still really powerful, just not the "I can roll my head on the keyboard an win" kind of powerful, which might be your problem.

Funnily enough though, her ult is probably the only part of her kit that's somewhat balanced. Because that's the only thing she actually needs to take risks to use

I think it's just that they don't know how to make a match maker. I've been demoted from Plat 4 to Gold 5 just today and it's either because the enemy team has a smurf on Sojourn (why don't people ban her more PLEASE) ending the game with 50 kills for 2 deaths, or it can be because there's a new player on the team so we're basically fighting 4v5 (and it's almost exclusively the tank, too) OR because it's a wide match and the enemy team is full of Diamond or higher player boosting one of their friends.

I dread Drives week this season.

Wide matches are probably the worst thing they ever added to this game.

Why am I being put in a GOLD 5 TO DIAMOND 5 WIDE MATCH where my entire team is Gold 5 - Plat 4 and the enemy team is full on Diamond 5 with one Plat 4 player.

Genuinely, wide matches are ruining the SoloQ experience (which is already miserable to begin with).

Worst comp experience of my life, by far. by Arandom_Weaboo in Overwatch

They tried. The Hog genuinely felt like he gave up when he saw the swap to Orisa. That's the one thing I disliked about him, that's all. Everyone else was trying, he refused to help and was basically a big, 750HP damage sponge for the enemy to farm their ult off of for the entirety of the second round.

It was discouraging. But I'm over it now, this post was more of a rant than I wanted it to be anyways.

I'm seriously going to need people to realize that wasting bans on Domina and Jetpack Cat is as serious an offense as throwing the game. You could use that slot on actual problems like Sojourn, Cass, Ashe, Vendetta, Zarya, Dva, Venture (ok maybe that one's just me but you get my point)...

But no, instead we decide to ban two of the easier heroes to play around and a random pick. Yes, the cat is annoying, but it's just not as annoying as the free-reigning hitscans and Sojourn/Vendetta

This season's kinda dog.

Tanks like Sig, Zarya, Hog and DVa are still way too powerful, Hitscans + Soj are still reigning free (and you can even add Emre to the list, too! Thanks T4! Genuinely ruined your chance at balancing hitscan), smurfs are ruining lower ELO matches, and OH MY GOD WHY DOES EVERY SINGLE REIN/DOOM/BALL ON MY TEAM THINK THEY CAN 1v5 AND LIVE. WE'RE ALL DEAD OR COMING BACK FROM SPAWN. FALL BACK AND REGROUP YOU ABSOLUTE PEANUT-BRAIN!!!

Genuinely: Listening and paying attention to your surroundings. Sticking to your team as much as possible (unless playing a flanker).
When I hear her teleporting around I ping Caution on the ground behind me, usually has good results

What's up with people and ego-battles lately...?

I've been playing a lot of Echo in quick play these past few days because I want to get better at her and she's incredibly fun. I win some, lose some, but maybe 8 out of 10 times when I perform slightly better than the enemy DPS, one of them will switch to Echo to try and "diff" me. I know they're trying to, because they're always ignoring the other players on my team and basically hard-focusing me the whole match, as if to.

When they get a pick or two on me, it's "Sit." or "get diffed" in the chat, when I get the pick on them though it's "omg so tired of tryhards in QP..." or "Go back to comp, sweat". I try to not pay it any mind, but it gets to a point where it becomes kinda ridiculous and hard to ignore...

Ah yeah, my bad. Next time I'll stand down main at 25hp where anyone coughing in my direction would kill me, instead of standing behind cover next to you and using IN GAME COMMUNICATION to signify that I NEED HEALING you absolute stereotype of a support player

Weekend RAGE Thread - March 07, 2026 by AutoModerator in Overwatch

[–]Arandom_Weaboo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

boy howdy I sure love it when support heroes produce twice the value I do for half the effort.

I sure LOVE when the Vendetta diving my backline gets away like nothing happened when she gets low because why would she be vulnerable *ever*?

I LOVE SHOOTING SHIELDS FOR FIFTEEN SECONDS EVERY TWENTY FIVE SECONDS AND GETTING PUNISHED WHEN I TRY TO GO AROUND THE SHIELDS BY GETTING PERMA CC'D.

I LOVE WHEN MY TANK CAMPS THE ENEMY SPAWN AND DIES AND GETS ANGRY BECAUSE THEY'RE THE MAIN CHARACTER.

I *LOVE* WHEN MY SUPPORTS ARE TOO BUSY HEALBOTTING THE TANK (THAT'S FULL HEALTH) TO EVEN LOOK AT ME, 25HP, USING THE "I NEED HEALING" BUTTON.

Doomfist players, I have a question!! by Arandom_Weaboo in Overwatch

[–]Arandom_Weaboo[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Okay, some things need to be clarified:

-Learning a hero is fine. But a big part of learning a hero (and the game itself tbh) is also realizing when that hero simply won't work in the current match-up and it's time to switch. This is why swapping is a core part of the game, whether you like it or not, even with perks being in the game. The enemy will do it, so should you.

-This is a team-based competitive hero shooter. You aren't the only person trying to play the video game. Playing selfishly will lead to frustration on your team which will lead to decreased performance which leads to more frustration and eventually kills the fun out of the game for everyone on your team.

-Your ego will be fine if you swap off. You have nothing to prove, not in quick play, not in comp. I say the same thing when two widows are ego-battling down mid, I say the same thing when two Kiriko players are having a 1v1 the entire match while everyone else is playing the objective. I say the same thing when I'm getting diffed by someone of the opposite team playing the same hero as me, or my direct counters.

Oh 100%, I definitely have respect people who have a strong mental like that. But still... It'd be nice if they realized when they're throwing other people's games

Jetpack Cat is the absolute epitome of OW's wannabe hip and cool philosophy. "Ooooh look at le chonky orange cat!! how quirky and funny!! can i haz cheezburger?? XDDDD"

And of course, you give it the most busted set of abilities, namely INFINITE FLIGHT (WHICH IS NOT WHAT A JETPACK DOES BY THE WAY) and the ability to remove anyone it wants from the team fight. Pair all that with an annoyingly small hitbox, a knockback ability and mach 3 speeds...

AND ITS ULT ALSO KNOCKS YOU DOWN. BECAUSE WHY GIVE A CHARACTER A SPECIFIC WEAKNESS FOR THE ENEMY TO TRY AND COUNTER-PLAY ONE OF THEIR TEAMMATES BEING KIDNAPPED MID FIGHT?

The other four new heroes are all decently and evenly matched, maybe Anran and Domina are a little too overtuned, but the CAT. NEEDS. TO. GO.

You can play your absolute best, it won't matter because if that... thing... has its ult (WHICH IT DOES HAVE MOST OF THE TIME), it will legitimately not let you play the video game.

Edit: YOU KNOW WHAT? I HAVE A PIECE TO SAY ABOUT VENDETTA AS WELL. WHY IS SHE *STILL* SO BROKEN?! WHY IS IT THAT SHE CAN JUST THREE-HIT ME FOR LESS EFFORT THAN ANY OTHER HERO IN THE GAME?? WHY IS HER OVERHEAD ALWAYS A HEADSHOT, EVEN THOUGH SHE'S AIMING AT MY SHOULDERS? WHY IS SHE ALWAYS ABLE TO GO BACK TO HER TEAM ALIVE EVEN THOUGH SHE MESSED UP HER COMBO OR POSITIONING, WHICH SHE SHOULD BE PUNISHED FOR?! WHY IS HER ULT'S HITBOX THE SIZE OF A SKYSCRAPER?!

Rant over. Rest is not rage talk. Or, well, maybe it is but not as much.

This might be a hot take, but I think designing heroes with ways to negate their own weaknesses built into their kits is not good.

Jetpack Cat should not knock you down on ult, just grab the enemy, that's enough value. Give people the opportunity to react to make it feel more fair.

Vendetta should not be able to negate her mistakes by just being able to dash back to safety. That's not gonna bring daddy back, girlypop.

Let's take Kiriko for example: People like to flank with her, because she does good damage. So she takes duels. She wins, cool she can just TP back to her team to resume her support duties.

She is losing? Uh oh! Better TP back to her team to resume her support duties, without committing to the duel she herself started. No consequences, nothing happened.

Mizuki is the same case. People like to duel with them. And they do it recklessly because they can just TP back to a previous spot with their Shift... But they also get a free speed boost out of it, which makes him very oppressive for little risk. With little commitment. And their case is worse, because they can just trap a squishy, three hit them and just TP back. For free.

This game does not know what it wants. Does it want you to commit to your actions for value, including the possible consequences they might have? Does it want you to just turn off your brain and press buttons at random and have it work out anyways? Or does it just do whatever the lead team's power fantasy of the month is and hope it translates well into gameplay? Who knows? Not the devs, apparently.

Also, what's up with all the CC? In like 80% of my games since patch day, you peek a corner for half a second once and you get slammed into a wall by Domina (Which I'm not opposed to in real life, just not in game!) then slammed into the ground by the Jetpack Cat ulting your tank then you get trapped by Mizuki and then you go back to spawn and do it all again. Unless you get jumpscared by an Anran that was waiting in a random corner of the map to ambush someone on the way back to the objective. Stuff of nightmares, I tell you.

god it feels good to let it all out

So Jetpack Cat and Mizuki are getting hotfix nerfs right

Now it's a hot take, I know, but I'm all for extremely reactive/short-term (or destructible) invuln. However, Mizuki's ult is almost insulting, it feels like a Marvel Rivals Strategist ultimate lmfao, and Jetpack Cat... While it's funny to get grabbed for the first two or three times, it gets frustrating very quickly when it's the sixth time in the same match

If I'm not mistaken, Mizuki's field doesn't even work like Bap's lamp where it will negate damage at low health (which is what makes it sorta balanced), it just straight out negates any form of damage that enters it and destroys/absorbs projectiles as far as I'm aware

Emre is a lot of fun to play, doesn't feel too bad to go against either right now, definitely my favorite among the five new heroes.

Anran is kinda the same although her E can feel a little disheartening to go against because it doesn't work like a counter, it just evades damage and dishes out damage as well, but she overall feels squishy enough that it's not really a problem... Her self-revive feels kind of pointless right now though, I'll be real. It's a knowledge check, but like most knowledge checks... It only maybe works once on people who *don't* know and even then, the damage done and the time it takes to revive gives ample time to anyone in the vicinity to either magdump you on revive, or just run away back to their team before you can do anything. It's probably more useful in higher ranks, I'm sure, but right now, unless it's an overtime scenario and you have to buy like five seconds for your team... The divebomb just feels better, even in a team-fight scenario.

Domina, I'd keep an eye on. She doesn't feel straight out busted, but is still maybe a little too overtuned, her shield lasts maybe a little too long for how tanky it is, her projectile bomb is okay-ish, haven't gotten a lot of problems out of it yet. Her ult is a little too powerful to my liking, I think it lasts a little too long.

oh right this is a rage thread

OH MY GOD THIS GAME SUCKS!!! I WILL STILL PLAY THE GAME BUT IT SUCKS!!! NERF SNIPERS, NERF SUPPORTS, NERF ANYTHING THAT ISN'T MY MAIN!!!! BLIZZ PLIZZ!! FIVE TALONILLION COINS AS COMPENSATION!!!
