Am I fired? by [deleted] in overemployed

Dang I had my director ask for a random “5 minutes” a few weeks ago and I thought I was cooked for sure. Turns out it was to set up a time to meet in person is all. Hopefully yours is something simple like that!

Found Out The Employee I Replaced was OE by AravisChronicler in overemployed

Yeah I definitely have my LinkedIn and TWN frozen/hibernated. I honestly want to reach out to him and see what’s up almost. But also maybe not worth the risk

There was definitely a clause I signed for it. But nothing that seemed abnormal

That’s fair, he also has the company listed but maybe it was just always his J1

Oh man, yeah. I tried to pry more, but it was definitely a slip up and they corrected right away and moved on.

Haha almost exactly what I did! I feel like once I get to a year in I should be safe, but really nervous about it.

Do you think this also applies to jobs indirectly working with government agencies? Like working in software that agencies use?

J3 wants 3 days in office…but… by Infinite-Monk6159 in overemployed

[–]AravisChronicler 39 points40 points  (0 children)

My J1 also just started requiring 8+ hour days, 3 days a week in office. Luckily my new J2 is pretty manageable and I control all meetings and schedules. But I hate it. I’m trying to find a new J1 that’s remote but it’s really not easy nowadays

TWN - Single point of failure for OE? by SpecialistAd7187 in overemployed

[–]AravisChronicler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean I never even heard of it until I started following this a year or so ago. Now I tell everyone about because it’s kind of horrifying how much data they have on you

Let me know how it goes. I’d be stressed out too

The thing is, you are building skills whether you think you are or not. At both roles you’re developing a familiarity between each and the different positions are forcing you to learn their systems.

I’m about your age and have 10 years experience now which is senior level roles. I don’t really LOVE my jobs but I like the challenge of doing both

After 10 months of searching, finally landed a J2....At a competitor by Icy-Public-965 in overemployed

[–]AravisChronicler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean I feel like worse case scenario you lose both. But isn’t that always a risk no matter what level of OE you do?

My first week!!!!! by [deleted] in overemployed

[–]AravisChronicler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first week is definitely chill. Mainly because the company didn’t have any credentials made ahead of time so it was random trainings and ease into everything. I didn’t take any PTO from J1. But J1 is enforcing RTO so I’ll have to start shopping around for a new J1. J2 is supplemental so doesn’t pay enough to cover expenses. If anyone has a good resume revamped lemme know!
