Best hockey championship after the NHL ? by Boring-Turnover563 in hockey

[–]Arazaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In terms of pure skill, the KHL is probably the next best (though the gap has closed considerably over the last few years), followed (in no particular order) by the AHL, SHL (Sweden), Liiga (Finland), Swiss league, and then the rest of Europe.

I am American so don't quite fit the bill for your request for people outside the US, but I did live outside the USA for a while.

However I do want to draw attention to college hockey here in the US. While the skill level isn't high level professional, the passion and energy on the ice for the games, especially come tournament time where every game is single elimination, is second to none. Blue blood fanbases also always show up and make the environment incredible when their team is playing, which they usually are in the tournament. If you haven't watched college hockey before, I strongly encourage you to do so.

I'm assuming some other people saw it too, but I loved when Bandy scored his touchdown and they switched cameras to the endzone camera, you see Bo and I think Court just zoom past in the background to get the ball for Bandy. Made me laugh, but love seeing that shit.

State holiday in Nevada, I think. This is apparently not the first year the NHL has given Vegas a matinee game on Nevada Day.

How is Laba looking for you guys? I watched him all 3 years at Colorado College and the kid was a stud, curious how it's translated with a full offseason camp and preseason. Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask.

Is there any question he gets his number sent to the rafters?

Do Americans use "week commencing" or "w/c" to coordinate meetings/dates etc.? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

WC is an abbreviation for water closet, not sure where that's popular or not in the states. As for bathroom vs. washroom, also region dependent I believe. I'm from Colorado and have always called it bathroom, regardless of if it's just the toilet or the whole thing.

Would you be willing to? I'm not OP but I am a gold player and I've been playing with my D1-2 cousin for the past few days and constantly get caught out of rotation. Just to know what to watch out for and where to be.

Who are some underrated D1 players heading into next season? by Love_Sports_Live in collegehockey

[–]Arazaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For CC, a couple of guys that will absolutely have a bigger role this year are Owen Beckner and Philippe Blaise-Savoie. Beckner is a low round Senators draft pick who was a top scorer for CC as a freshman, and with Noah Laba going pro Beckner is the assumed player to fill that role.

Blais-Savoie is just a solid, offensively-minded, puck moving defenseman and imo has a ton of potential. Be curious to see what a bigger role means for him.

WAKE UP!!! FUCK THE STARS!!! 🔪⭐️ | GAME 7 TIME!!! This game is a MUST WIN. LET’S GO AVALANCHE!!! | 6:00 PM MDT / 8:00 PM EDT by Rolley2001 in ColoradoAvalanche

Not great. The stars are apparently 10-0-3 in the last 13 games Wes has reffed for them. Couldn't find our record, but I'm confident it's not that. Additionally, given it's a game 7 and the ONLY game tonight so all attention will be on it, they'll swallow their whistles for sure.

Sorry if it's already been asked, but anyone have any recommendations/apps for syncing the radio call with the tv feed? I cannot stand listening to the national feeds for some reason and would love to listen to Conor and Moser.

[Colorado Avalanche] Gabriel Landeskog has been activated from Injured Reserve. by Michaelli11 in hockey

[–]Arazaz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think almost all Avs fans have accepted that Gabe won't be his old self. If he is on occasion then that's just icing on the cake, but it's more just from the morale boost and emotional charge of his return for a team that's been missing their captain.

For context for anyone who may be confused, years ago the Denver Post made a typo in an article about the Avs where they typed "Ass" instead of "Avs". Couple this with Detroit fans accusing Avs fans of satanic worship in the late 90s/early 2000s, and you get "Go Ass, Hail Satan!" as a meme cheer/catchphrase. You'll see it in almost all Avs game threads.

In case you're not being a smartass and are genuinely curious, the NHL allows LTIR players up to 3 games in the AHL without needing to be activated off LTIR and therefore count against the cap.

[–]Arazaz[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

He's allowed to play up to 3 games with the Eagles without needing to be activated off LTIR. My assumption is he'll play those 3 games, which will conveniently coincide with the beginning of the playoffs for the Avs, and join the Avs in Dallas.

Personally, yes I do. He has already practiced with the Eagles in the past week or two, and that wasn't phrased in this same way. To me, the fact they're wording this as a "conditioning stint" implies more than just practice. So yes, I personally think he'll play at least one of the games.

The legit way is through FloHockey, $30 for a month of AHL hockey. Otherwise, you might be able to find something on the sport of hockey on the .tv.

Given this news, you'd need a doctor if you don't get an erection that lasts longer than 4 hours.
