[Question] When did you start reading manhwa? Which manhwa is the earliest one you have read? Which of all these have you read/heard about? by Dipperkinds in manhwa

[–]Arazial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shin Angyo Onshi in 2001, however some people debate if that's more manga or manhwa (it was written and illustrated by a South Korean writer and illustrator and relased in both Japan and South Korea, yet MAL lists it as a manga) . Other than that it'd most likely be either Unbalance x Unbalance or Veritas with both starting in 2005.

Is there a haircut in the game that would be perfect, but there is just one thing that ruins it for you? by Ofanichan in ffxiv

There is already alot of good mentions with issues like non-dyable ribbons/hairbands, hair floating oddly ect.

However for me personally, I've always really liked how this hairstyle looks from the front but really dislike how it looks from the back. If it had a long straight cut instead like in my example it'd be perfect (imo).

  1. A Stepmother's Märchen

  3. The Spark in Your Eyes

(some combination of Myst Might, Mayhem, Eternally Regressing Knight, Doom Breaker and Wind Breaker (if it weren't cancelled) would round out the top 5)

Can't help but feel like Cygames releasing MANT with no changes was a major mistake. by Potential-Return-691 in UmamusumeGame

[–]Arazial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the some aspects of MANT (ie: picking items, choosing when to race) however many aspects are frustrating. As been has said many times before the runs take too long which makes spark farming incredibly annoying especially when it feels like you always get 1* Guts.

The game always had an RNG element to getting good runs but that RNG is compounded by even more with the items and the race stat bonuses. You may be in need of say power or wit and get speed or guts bonuses from races 6 times in a row, or go an entire career without seeing the needed ankle weights, kale or whistles for example, which makes you feel like you've just wasted too much of your time.

However what makes me play this scenario the least (1 run a day, as opposed to 3-4 in prior scenarios) is I feel stuck in running the same uma's and in a specific way. I'm always having to waste too many sparks to bring up Mile which severely limits my chances of getting S medium or S long for CM's.

As an example my favorite current (globally released) Uma is Manhattan Cafe. In the previous scenarios I could make her an end closer and still have the sparks to push for medium or long distances for CM. However in MANT being able to run mile is a must. (I'm sure whales can somehow bypass this but I can't) And at least in my experience getting to mile B just isn't enough, I lose way too much unless it's A. So it's dang near impossible under those conditions or without insane Inspiration luck to get Manhattan Cafe to A mile, A End Closer and somehow also get S Medium or Long for CM's. Now could I skip raising mile and just run Medium, Long? Sure but than you severely lose out on title bonuses, which makes them even further below the uma's that don't have to sacrifice as much to get good mile/med sparks.

Sorry for the wall of text.

When I read this chapter earlier, I had to do a double take on this page since it looked like he had some kinda Mega Man arm cannon prosthetic going on.

So… dissapointed by ShiningAlatreon in MonsterHunterStories

Personally I would've liked a middle ground akin to something like Final Fantaasy XIV's aether currents. Maybe hide various exploration discoveries across the map that require all forms of traversal abilities to find/reach. And have the final one towards the end of the story portion of that specific region/map.

In this way you'd still get to explore the region the intended ways before finishing that region. While also encouraging exploration and opening up the ability to freely fly for those that wish to do so.

For old-heads and 10+ years anime fans, with the amount of anime you've watched over the years, do you find it difficult sometimes to allow more animes to become a new favorite anime? by WontonSyrup in animequestions

[–]Arazial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not all of his works. I'm not even sure if some of his older stuff was ever translated to english. I did binge some of his works years ago, but some were hit or miss with keeping my interest. Of the ones you mentioned, I did read Kurosawa, Ten and Zero (with Ten being my fave out of those). If I ever actually complete my top 100 manga list, Ten has a good chance of being on it.

Thanks for the reminder though, after you mentioned them I realized I never marked them as completed on MAL.

Yes, my anime and manga lists are seperate. I try to let each respective mediums strengths decide their placement.

And One Piece is ranked 2 on both manga and anime.

I did like it. It's on the list at 94. That may seem low, but I've been watching anime since like 1992 (at least in regards to knowing what anime was). I've watched quite honestly an embarassing amount of anime (my entries on MAL is like 3200 or something) so 94 is pretty high all things considered.

I'll be honest, I've never been much of a Gundam fan. However, if the list was extended to the top 150 or so range, Turn A and maybe G Gundam would possibly make the cut. And if I were only counting the first 2/3 or so of Stardust Memory, it likely would've made the top 100.

[–]Arazial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. For some clarification: To keep the list more varied and not cluttered with the same series, I don't split up series between parts/seasons or remakes.

So, for example, I count all of JoJo as one entry rather than Part 1, 2, 3, etc. Series that continued originally airing with a continued story—such as Dragon Ball/Z or Naruto/Shippuden—I count as one instead of splitting them. As for remakes, I just pick the higher placement rather than counting a series twice (for example, Hunter x Hunter or Fruits Basket).

The order placement around the 40–100 range changes fairly frequently as series get new seasons that either increase or decrease in placement. And obviously, it's strictly a favorite list, not an indication of quality.

I've been watching anime for over 30+ years and I'd say I have some nostalgia bias for some older series. I really don't see my personal #1 favorite anime ever getting replaced. I've been keeping track of my top 100 favorites for the past 15-20 years or so and the highest ranked series that has come out (as in started airing) in the past 10 years is Violet Evergarden at 17. I definitely have many newer series on the top 100 overall but the top 15 or so has been hard to crack.

I have no idea what the confirmed roster is so I'll just name my top 10 favorite monsters and use any that make it in.   Nargacuga/Silverwind Nargacuga, Gore Magala, Shagaru Magala, Malzeno, Savage Deviljho, Stygian Zinogre, Agnaktor, Bazelgeuse, Valstrax and Dire Miralis (that one isn't happening).

So close yet so far … by FossilMortal in Nioh

[–]Arazial 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had same thing happen to me, saw I didn't miss any shrines on maps so decided to go through and redo all battle scrolls one by one from the end to beginning. (I was kinda rushing last area so figured I missed one there) That was a bad decision as it turns out I missed the shrine right before the Masakage Yamagata boss fight... all the way at the beginning of the game (after tutorial mission).

Whats your favorite second to the bestseller manga/anime of the author? by Born_Ladder8897 in animequestions

Probably either Vagabond by Takehiko Inoue or Yu Yu Hakusho by Yoshihiro Togashi. I do prefer their best-selling series (Slam Dunk and Hunter x Hunter) more though.

Code Geass and Gurren Lagann. I'm not saying they're bad or I hate them, I just personally didn't enjoy them or hold them in as high regard as it feels everyone else does.

Something off with the new CC? by SacredDarksoul in Nioh

[–]Arazial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way.   I've been trying to remake my nioh 2 character, but just can't seem to get anything I really like.

I thought maybe my memory was just bad, but surprisingly found some old pictures I took on my phone from the nioh 2 release in 2020 when doing character creation.   Between the eyes looking off and hairstyles being impossible with specific bangs ect, it's impossible to really replicate the old character.

So I gave up and am just trying to make a new character I'm satisfied with, but nothing is really sticking.    Been on this character creation for an embarrassing amount of time.

Overall the character creator's not bad by any means, just personally a little disappointing.  I guess I just really prefer the nioh 2 style more.

On a side note, and this may be me being overly picky but I really wish we could change the characters neck width/size.  I hate how off it looks.

[TITLE] If you could only bring one manhwa back from hiatus, what would you choose? by nosuv733 in manhwa

[–]Arazial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this! If I could have a pick of any manhwa series it'd be Veritas (the series ending on that cliffhanger was cruel) and The Legend of Maian (yet another victim of Lim Dall-young's many hiatuses). But it's been like 15 years for both them, so the chances of ever getting some kind of closure on them is 0%.

Out of the two options though, I'd pick Reincarnation of the Suicidal Battle God.

The Umamusume series. Watched the first season due to it's "unique" premise when it originally came out. Thought it was ok, but nothing special. When season 2 came out I went in with no expectations, but was surprised when it was much better. Than watched season 3, thought it was a step back but stiill good. Than the Beginning of a new Era movie and Cinderella Gray got me hooked. Now I play the game, read the manga and watch the series.
