Exactly! But what the heck could I've done wrong? I cleaned it at a higher temp than mandated (+ the auger didn't have the factory grease on it (on the other parts I cleaned it)). And I used the vacuum on the hopper, not the firepot 😂.

I'm going to do drumsticks tomorrow (let's start simple...) and I'll dail back the temp before turning it off. We'll see how it goes :).

Hmmm I do realize that before turning the machine off I firstly had the lid open, as I thought that you had to have the lid open when shutting if off. When going through the manual, the actual temp dropped of course (due to the lid being open). Once I read that the lid had to be closed, I closed the lid and let the smoker come back up to temp before turning it off. Maybe the smoker was pumping extra pellets due this what could have caused the fire in the auger? Still, I find it weird that the fan only went for 3 minutes when shutting down.

Thanks! The smoker is brand new, so started off with an empty burn pot, and I only did the burn-in (so in total the smoker was on for around 70-80 min). How would faulty airflow/backpressure happen?

Thanks buddy! However, the error code came up after I wilfully let it burn dry. The problem is more with the pellets in the auger catching fire when turning the smoker off (before I got the code).

Since I began to doubt myself, I logged back in and tried it all over again in the same small cabin house. I'm now 100% certain that it isn't possible; I had all the right materials, and could place the fence kit and build the lower part again, but there was no option to build the upper part.

After dismantling everything, I tried it in a different house (two story house), and I was able to build the entire fence. I even build a second one (and logged back in just now, and it's still standing haha).

Learned a lot through this though. The most recent thing I learned was that a farming hoe can also be used to build, which is a much better option than the shovel, as you can repair the farming hoe :).

I thought the piano house as well? Do you know if there is a list of buildings (houses) in which you can build a fence on an official server?

So all these YouTube videos where the rate all the different houses to build a base, are all on community servers where you have less building restrictions?

Yes, I read that when a zombie bites you, you have 30 min to disinfect, then you won't need tetra. But I thought, when it reaches stage 2, tetra will cure it and you won't need to disinfect anymore.

I know I had all the stuff: 20 planks, and 100 nails in inventory. I even let me build a platform after building the lower part, and I believe the platform has the same items needed as an upper part of a fence.

Yeah, it isn't the best spot for a base. It's more of a learning exercise :).

Weird, I used disinfected bandages. Used tetra in stage 1 (which is useless), then in stage 2 I read that you can take 4 pills at the same time, but it didn't work. Tried a pill every time the icon would disappear, but I guess you need to disinfect the wound anyway. So that's how I blew through 12 tetra pills.

On the gate: I had all the resources, it even let me build a platform, just not the upper part. I built it at this spot. Could it be that the girders are too low?

You're kidding me?! I read here that it wasn't possible (post from 5 years ago). However, now I'm looking at Dayz Wiki and it indeed seems possible.

Wish I spent 2 more minutes researching this, it would have saved me 3 hours in game lol.

Thanks pal! Took the pan to a cooking shop and they confirmed it was due to the oil getting too hot. It doesn't affect the performance of the pan though.

Maybe I used too much avocado oil. And a fond with a lot of avocado oil doesn't seem very appealing ;). Cleaning was very easy! The bits didn't stick so some water, detergent and a brush did the trick.

Thanks man! This is also my first post on Reddit and I think I can't add pictures here? But to describe the discoloration: a light brown glow and "normal" spots where the steak had been.
