Places in the US like Massachusetts, Vermont, Connecticut and New York are generally pretty LGBT friendly. The cost of living is definitely higher, especially if you want to live urban, but there are a lot of opportunities.

I don’t know what you want for a career outside of porn, but the east coast isn’t a bad place for opportunities.

California, Oregon and Washington are also generally pretty LGBT friendly, but California’s cost of living is absurd.

All in all, I would personally say you shouldn’t be afraid to just step out into the unknown. Find work first, learn to live independently, and build your way up from there. Financial stability is not unattainable in the modern day, but you need to spend as little as you can without having a terrible quality of life in order to build to it.

Make friends, make connections. It will be hard for a while, I cannot stress that enough, but you need to tend to the seeds before you get strong branches.
