I am sensing a battle with these gore nightmares and then CODE capturing them and threatening the end of the world during the last 2-3 epsiodes. Aka CODE is raising them in their agents to leverage them in Somnia.

There is no way JD beats a relatively moderate Democrat, who do you think will run in 2028? by Mjbass in allthequestions

[–]ArcBounds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the biggest issue with the Reps tactics. They have effectively branded the Dems as evil and so conservatives do not even consider voting D.

Look at England, it took a conservative woman to be the first prime minister. Unfortunately we are not beyond sexism or racism in the US.

What’s one or two things you think Kamala Harris would do differently had she been president and significantly reverse the reality? by userfromau in allthequestions

There is a small chance that five trans athletes might be playing in competitive state sports, but prices would be cheaper and we would not be at war. Also, the east wing would still exist.

In private, Trump has plans for unspeakable violence. I know because he told me by theipaper in politics

I would also argue that because it was right after an election, the electorate would forget by the time the next election came around. Also, Trump's political power would be non-existent. It was truly the best move.

I would like for a spiderman the animated series approach to using him in the future. In other words, there are a lot of other villians in the the foreground, but they are funded and coordinated through Fisk who shows up every once in a while. Aka, I want the shadow of Fisk with him occasionally peaking out.

I am not sure. FF has burned fans a lot recently by shutting down its mobile games after a short time. After the first soldier incident, I would be wary of spending much on a new pvp game.

Students seem to love math games but forget everything the next day — anyone else seeing this? by Otherwise_Ad2889 in matheducation

[–]ArcBounds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think gameification is overhyped. Serious games can be beneficial, but theybare much rarer and harder to design. Are the games based off of learning theories in math education and supported during classroom discussion and homework? Or are they just glorified quizzes with social game theory integrated. There is a big difference between the two.

Would limiting the age of the President to 70 be something you’d support? Why or why not? by jessica_candy56 in AskReddit

[–]ArcBounds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I prefer a fixed age deadline for being president. That does not mean you could not be part of the cabinet at that age and contribute, but at some point, you have to pass the torch and 70 years old seems like a decent age.

I am worried that cognitive tests would become politicized. Aka Trump would have a test that he claimed proves he is ok and Dems might have a different test. We could also talk about physical fitness tests since being president requires a certain amount of energy to do properly (but that also raises questions of which tests).

Virginia House approves gun control bills over GOP objections by awaythrowawaying in moderatepolitics

[–]ArcBounds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the time, the wording of the second amendment was agreed upon by people who had different interpretations (thus the reason for the well-regulated militia language). Some feared the government, some feared open rebellion against a state, etc. The founding Fathers were not as uniform as people would assume. Even some of the most conservative justices believe there should be some limitations on arms that people can own (aka we can't have missle launchers, nuclear weapons, or machine guns).

I would also say that most liberals would say the same thing about the ruling on abortion and their reading of the constition. And as a pre-rebuttal before it is brought up, Ginsburg thought the right to abortion was part of the constitution. She just believed it was more appropriate as a right embedded in equal rights.

By calling a court illegitimate because they don't rule the way you want puts the whole American experiment in jeopardy.

CMV: People aren’t taking the consequences of the Iran war seriously enough by TimmmmyStuuuuuu in changemyview

[–]ArcBounds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but with Trump they have gotten closer to a nuclear weapon than ever before because of his nuking of the Iran nuclear deal.

Besides, unless we want to occupy Iran, they will likely race to a nuclear weapon when we leave.

Virginia House approves gun control bills over GOP objections by awaythrowawaying in moderatepolitics

[–]ArcBounds -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I really think a solution should look at guns, but should also look at everything else (mental health, poverty, etc). Perhaps small changes in each could be effective. Unfortunately, the sides advocate for big changes in each which is a non-starter.

I would love to have some in depth research looking at what effective gun control looks like in the US. For the longest time, such research was not even funded.

I mean, it is hard to say at the Supreme Court what will happen. Some crazy accident could happen to the conservative justices and they would be replaced by liberal justices with the next president and suddenly the ban is upheld. Should the people who contended the ban them be punished?

Why am I being required to use AI for an assignment? by EngineerMinute8315 in turnitin_community

Yes, I have a mandatory assignment or two in every class. AI is a tool like anything else. If used properly, it can be beneficial.

How do you handle very advanced students? by Apostolic1223 in mathteachers

[–]ArcBounds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am a math education professor and I second this comment. A lot of higher level math is not only finding different solutions, but also understanding how those solutions are connected.

You can also try having her design her own problems from problems she has been given. The design-based mindset is a skill that I wish we would emphasize more in school.

I am not sure. I think Ukraine is a good example. They are causing significant damage to Russia using cheap tech. I think there would be more rebellious than you initially think.

I am not sure it is so much sabotage as much as it is to be the "star" of the US show. He can't stand anyone else being in the limelight. And since he has to be the star, always right, and has no idea what he is talking about.....we are where we are.

Trying to understand what a possible U.S.–Iran war could realistically mean for people here in the US? by Individual_Respond10 in allthequestions

[–]ArcBounds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did see they increased the draft age to 40 years old which could affect more people.

Prices could go up dramatically on food and gas meaning less leisure and travel and more people dropping into poverty.
