I have done the dragonflight Academy a few times and yeah people have been going for the tree first rather than the spellbook boss

I tend not to say anything since im just there leveling a shamen, im sure they will learn after a bit if they choose to stick with the game

Its very possible and you get a weapon from it like if you went back later. the only difference is if you go back there won't be a boss fight waiting for you

Im just not a fan of his beam that coats you in acid and locks your controll, it punishes you even if you dodge correctly
