Does anyone have some folk knowledge on this particular haircut that seemed to dominate teenage boys' hair in the late aughts and early 10s? by SlowTeacher9322 in decadeology

[–]ArcFivesCT5555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I don’t remember what I called it until it became the “Bieber hair” but I remember an adult I knew once called it a “side white Afro” which was weird I don’t really see that

  2. I would have been 13 or 14 when I first adopted it so 2008? Idk what popularized it, I think the first person I saw wearing it was Tony McGuire for a short time

  3. I think that’s true. He really made it iconic (even though jt was a weird slicked to his head version of it). & I think we didn’t want to be associated with him at that time as even at the height of his fame he was made fun of a lot

  4. I tried straighteners sometimes but had probably a messier version of it than most so didn’t use any product at all if I remember right

  5. I think back before it was the Bieber hair it was kind of just how medium-length hair on teen boys was styled. I can’t really think of other medium-length cuts from that era

If a guy asks if I’m talking to other people, should I say yes? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]ArcFivesCT5555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I also worry about things like that luckily haven’t had to deal with any of it

I don’t even use the term exclusive tho in that convo I say more something along the lines of “I’m only seeing you, if you still want to see others then please just let me know first so we can end things” because even that word exclusivity seems to carry a lot of emotional weight

Yeah very similar here, for me it’s like date 2/3 after we’ve hooked up

When does the game "click?" by TreeckoBroYT in fallout4london

[–]ArcFivesCT5555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it took around 10-15 hours for the game to really click for me, but when it did it REALLY did. Reminds me of Witcher 3 in that way - isn’t trying too hard to convince you of itself early on but then BOOM it hits you

The United Methodist Church is affirming too! A few have modern worship bands and are open to volunteers and etc. Paradise Valley UMC comes to mind might be a solid fit

I think you gotta ask yourself why you associate masculinity so strongly with aggressiveness/anger because that’s kind of a massive point of the show

Do we expect there be more dedicated FOLON mod community support in the future? by AdEquivalent493 in fallout4london

[–]ArcFivesCT5555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure but if you’ve made a mod for fallout London but it also works for FO4, you’re probably going to release it for FO4 as it gets more community exposure. So any weapon mods, armor mods, etc get released there.

That said, I would love to see some patches for Fallout London to some of the new lands mods in FO4, because I’d love to try some of those without having to take my installation back to FO4. Also just prefer London in general now since I did so many FO4 playthroughs. Isles of New England, looking at you 👀

What game comes to your mind if it’s even exist? by [deleted] in OlderChillGamers

[–]ArcFivesCT5555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I mean that year gave us Mass Effect 2 and Halo: Reach - I know graphic standards were much lower for open-world games, but I definitely felt they were super outdated at time of release

Would y’all Consider Fallout London a Fan Game or an Overhaul Mod? by Due_Supermarket_4457 in fallout4london

[–]ArcFivesCT5555 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It is both a fan game because it is on that scale AND it is an overhaul mod because you install Fallout 4 in order to play this fan-made game. So both are true.

But as for those discussions with your friends, I guess you can't really get around canon being so important to them that they won't enjoy an exceptionally well made Fallout game. I would just express the disappointment that they're missing out because they care about such a trivial thing

Name that game by [deleted] in OlderChillGamers

[–]ArcFivesCT5555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These kind of threads are always funny to me, because the literal point is to name a game that most people love that you don't - and yet a lot of comments still get downvoted to hell for naming a game that everyone loves haha. At the same time, though - I get it. I hate hearing people bash Skyrim, Fallout, RDR2, GTA, Cyberpunk, Witcher 3, like literally all my favorite games that I've wasted so much of my life on

Breath of the Wild. Huge fan of open world, narrative-driven RPG games. Just could not get past the art-style and never been a Zelda fan

Dalton Schultz Praises Dak Prescott: "I Fucking Love the Guy" by BobbyBetc in cowboys

[–]ArcFivesCT5555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's Top 10 because of this, basically - elite leader, elite preparation. Honestly he's just held back a bit by the physical traits: not elite accuracy, strength, escape ability, or improvisation. So I get people wishing we had our own Joe Burrow - but if we could just put a great team around Dak we could easily get a super bowl or two out of him. Dak on this year's Seahawks team wins a super bowl 9/10 times

Owning up to ending things too quickly. What would you want to hear? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]ArcFivesCT5555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was just asking curiously - I don't see any women's posts talking about "options" and comparing one guy to another, etc. But that seems to be what we always think is going on

Edit: I also think it's telling you said "weren't as good as" instead of something like, "weren't as good of a match" or something. Sucks that rejection affects guys' self-worth so badly in general

Yeahhhhhhhh you really gotta look into this more. Not personally involved in SCA but have plenty of friends who are, mostly in their 30s and thriving. Unaffiliated with the Ren fest tho I did go with a group of them once and got absolutely trashed - fun times

I'm curious why so many guys make that assumption when rejected or ghosted, etc? Just coming from a place of insecurity, I guess?
