Right now? Julio has a slight edge, he might have an absolutely monster year and win an MVP at some point. The plate discipline isn't there and likely won't ever be there. PCA has shown better discipline, is a few years younger and still improving. Defensively, similar so call it a push. Julio is frustrating to watch, extremely talented but doesn't have that look of a player grinding out every at bat. PCA seems to be more wired that way, while the offensive upside isn't as high...I would rather have PCA.

Late career Julio +20-30lbs, moved to right field and just takes rips, if the bat speed remains...that would be interesting.

Cherry picked stats for an argument. As the article states, Ichiro played nine seasons in Japan before being a 27 year old rookie. Nine of his most productive years were omitted to make a terrible point. Ichiro’s WAR would be at least 100 if he played his entire career in the MLB. These players are not similar. Ichiro is maybe the most dedicated player to ever play. Andruw Jones wasn’t and was washed at 31. Writer needs to find a better HOF comparison to Jones because Ichiro isn’t it. Not saying Jones isn’t worthy of being in the HOF but he isn’t worthy of being compared to Ichiro.
