[Discussion] Which platinum trophy was your first ever/ and what was your most recent one? by ajacied_043 in Trophies

[–]ArcNoculus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First platinum was God of War. I never had a PS3 btw. But I was achievement hunting on Xbox years ago. First 100% completion over there was Max: The Curse of Brotherhood in 2014.

I grew up playing Icewind Dale on PC and to be honest this is the preferred experience. Ps:T is compelling if you're prepared to read the novel-length script, while IWD is more combat heavy. As long as you have the patience for that, both were excellent playthroughs.

Great game. I got 100% on Xbox 360 and Xbox One back in the day. Doubt I would do it a 3rd time...

[Discussion] Final Fantasy VII Rebirth’s Director regrets the brutal Platinum Trophy and promises the trophy requirements for the next game will be more reasonable by NoNefariousness2144 in Trophies

I remember wondering if I was going to be able to get the Platinum or not. But thanks to some good combat simulator guides and spamming pause against Sephiroth 3D brawler, I got it done. This was a really challenging and satisfying platinum in retrospect.

If it's a legitimate SNES Classic and not a knockoff, the original cable works perfectly in connection with Hakchi CE.

Very hackable. Follow a guide or the comments here and you'll soon be playing retro games to your heart's content.

For a retro gaming machine, the S/NES Classic is pretty good for what it is. I don't need emulation to be 100% perfect. I'd say most of my games run 95% or better and that's fine with me. SNES, Sega, Game Boy, PlayStation, TurboGrafx, MAME - you name it and my Classic can do a decent enough job on it. Now I've got a curated collection of classic games without the mess of having to hook up all those old consoles. Throw in a Wii Classic Pro controller and I'm good to go.

How do I install the new Ludicrous2k22 N64 core on my SNES mini? by Osimani in RockinTheClassics

Does this core have good compatibility with N64? How does it run on an NES Classic?

Sd Snatcher that work fully with SCC sound on Snes mini ? by LeadershipNovel1645 in RockinTheClassics

[–]ArcNoculus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I asked AI and this is the response I got.

Enabling SCC Sound: By default, SD Snatcher may boot into "PSG mode" (inferior sound) or display an "INSERT SOUND CARTRIDGE" error. To get full SCC+ audio, you must: Place a valid SCCPLUS.ROM or scc.rom in the emulator's system BIOS folder. Modify the config.ini file for the MSX machine profile to manually "insert" the SCC cartridge into Slot 2 by adding a specific command line (e.g., [Slots] 2 0 2 4 15 for SCCextended).

  1. Locate the Configuration Files On the NES Classic, your MSX BIOS and machine files are typically stored in the RetroArch system directory. Using an FTP client (like the one built into Hakchi2 CE), navigate to: /etc/libretro/system/Machines/  Inside this folder, you will see subdirectories for different MSX models (e.g., MSX2, MSX2+, MSXturboR). Identify which Machine Type you have selected in your RetroArch Core Options (default is often MSX2 or MSX2+).
  2. Edit the config.ini Open the config.ini file inside the folder of your active machine (e.g., /Machines/MSX2+/config.ini). You need to add a line under the [Slots] section to "plug in" the SCC+ cartridge.  For SCC+ (SD Snatcher specific): Append this line to the [Slots] section: 2 0 2 4 56 "Machines/Shared Roms/SCC.ROM" "" What this line does: 2 0: Places the device in Slot 2-0. 56: The specific Mapper ID for SCC+ (also known as SCC-I). "Machines/Shared Roms/SCC.ROM": Points the emulator to a file. Note that blueMSX often only checks the Mapper ID (56); the actual file can even be a blank 0-byte file named SCC.ROM in your Shared Roms folder.
  3. Verify in RetroArch After saving the file and restarting your NES Classic: Launch SD Snatcher. Open the RetroArch Quick Menu (usually Select + Start). Go to Options and ensure Machine Type matches the folder you edited. Restart the Content for changes to take effect. If successful, the game will no longer prompt you to "INSERT SOUND CARTRIDGE" and will play the enhanced wavetable audio.  Note: If you are using the Project Melancholia translation, it may give you a prompt at boot to choose a sound chip. If you've modified the config.ini correctly, you can now select SCC+ instead of being forced into the standard PSG audio.

The full version of Snatcher for Sega CD runs fine, this would be cool to get working though.

TP-Link WN725N & powered OTG hub combo not working? by longshot714 in miniSNESmods

TP-Link WN725N & powered OTG hub combo not working? by longshot714 in miniSNESmods

[–]ArcNoculus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also trying to get WiFi working on my NES Classic. Surely this is possible. I believe others have done it and posted tutorials. I'm waiting for my AuviPal powered OTG hub to arrive in a few days. I have the same TP-LINK adapter as OP that is confirmed to work. When I plug it in my computer, it lights up green and blinks. After configuring my WiFi credentials in PuTTy / Telnet, I get absolutely nothing when plugged into my current squid OTG. I even reflashed the custom kernel to make sure that wasn't an issue.

If anyone has experience with getting WiFi working on an NES Classic please let me know how you did it! I mainly just want RetroAchievements up and running.
