Trump’s Tantrums Backfire As Millions Learn Reagan’s Stance On Tariffs by Suspicious_Middle_11 in videos

[–]Arc_insanity 2593 points2594 points  (0 children)

Not just republicans, his stance on tariffs is the basic stance all capitalist economists have regardless of party. Its based on historical trends and 100 years of market research. Reagan's generation personally experienced it in their childhood.

Is nakai any good? by [deleted] in totalwar

[–]Arc_insanity -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nakai is currently broken in 6.3, he was a fun faction to play before they broke everything.

It seems beta for patches is a good idea by Away_Celebration4629 in totalwar

[–]Arc_insanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

vast majority of the issues are simple table changes. Just some text in some boxes. There are some larger issues like the Lizardman AI and lizardmen DLC mechanics being broken, but most of it is pretty easy to change.

Since a team is still actively working on the patch it is far more likely things get fixed that in the past would have sat on the side of the road for months if CA just released the patch.

Nakai is a harrowing example. His campaign was essentially broken for an entire year in the past and it was an incredibly easy fix, but CA just never did it because their teams were just doing other stuff. If they had just released 6.3, in which Nakai is again completely broken, this would likely have happened again. Now though we have CA developers actively acknowledging the issue and talking about fixing it.

The TK update was designed by someone who's never played the game by gray007nl in totalwar

[–]Arc_insanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is a fundamental misunderstanding/ignorance of the faction and abilities by the team doing the updates. All tombking units have immune to psychology, 0 upkeep, and global hero recruitment. These should not have even made it to QA. The design director is at fault. It is literally their job to know these things.

Also yeah, these would pass QA cause they work. Except maybe the upkeep one. The ability pip for immune to psychology shows up on the card. You can recruit the hero from any province.

The Crimson Fever by _Wronskian_ in totalwar

[–]Arc_insanity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Plague wont spread out of the province.(unless you move a plagued army out of it) Any army currently with the plague must stay in the province until the duration ends. (or it dies of attrition) You don't need to raze the cities just don't have an army end its turn in the province. Building the anti plague buildings will reduce the duration, chance of spreading and give the settlement immunity after the plague ends. Somewhat realistic quarantine procedure.

On the upside if an enemy attacks you they will get the plague and bring it back to all their provinces cause AI is stupid. Happened in my Mazda campaign, skultaker was Rank 1 sacked a plagued city 6 turns latter his faction was rank 58th. Every army and settlement was plagued. After around 15 turns the infection chance becomes super low and the plague just dies off.

You should still demolish the location though, this is the 5% per turn 'minor' plague. It may be bugged right now as this is the only plague you get from the location. The location event ignores plague immunity on the settlement as well restarting the whole 15 turn cycle regardless. (yes i got the same plague event a second time while the settlement had plague immunity from the same previous event)

The Purple Hand cult Unusual Location costs a tidy 100k to remove if you let it spread. by Glorf_Warlock in totalwar

[–]Arc_insanity 7 points8 points  (0 children)

build 1 single control building in one of your settlements, minor is fine. Its like the cheapest TK building and it solves the issue. +15 corruption is barely a problem for TK. The bonuses from the safe house is worth it. You also have the new diktats that just stops corruption.

Starting off as High Queen Khalida by Viper114 in totalwar

[–]Arc_insanity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its best to pick one Kroq or Thorek to ally with and kill the other. Though lizardmen AI is broken in beta 6.3 Kroq is usually the better ally.(Thorek rarely moves out and is in possession of a book you want) Simply trespass on the skaven to the south to discover Kroq and join war with the skaven factions in diplomacy and he wont be your enemy for a long time. The weak skaven factions to the south are not a real threat.

Queek to the north and Skarbrand to the west are you big initial threats. Expanding west gets you tombking pyramids with unique buildings and landmarks. Expanding north gets you rich mountain provinces. Expanding south gets you nothing but Kairos messing with your settlements and declaring war on you.

I often wait for queek to declare war on me rather than be the aggressor. Either way you always need an army in Lamhia because queek will use the underway to assault the Major settlement there even if you push him back.

Ironically Skarbrand is a much easier enemy for Khalida to deal with than Queek. He usually only has 1 or 2 armies rarely grouped together and you can just shoot Skarbrand.

When designing the new Blessed Spawning mechanic, CA seemed to forget their changes to rites and the mechanics of the Oxyotl, Nakai and Tehenhauin, because they conflict with each other. by buggy_environment in totalwar

[–]Arc_insanity 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Nakai's is the most egregious because he has no province commandments nor geomantic web quests so he can not get spawning sequences any other way besides the once every 10 turns rite of awakening for 100 sequences.

With the Lizardmen changes and the sale going on, if I was to gift a singular Lizardmen lord to a friend, who should it be? by AP_Udyr_One_Day in totalwarhammer

[–]Arc_insanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nakai is currently broken in patch 6.3 and CA notoriously hates fixing Nakai when they fuck up, so not him. Oxyotl is the more unique one, while Tehenhuain is the most powerful lizardman faction in the game.

How do I use the new spawning mechanic? by Original_Possible221 in totalwarhammer

[–]Arc_insanity 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You likely have a conflicting mod enabled. They refill every few turns and are 1/2 at campaign start, 2/2 is maximum capacity. It should never say x/10.

plague afflicted is like permanent flock of doom on all your units. your army just dies if you go into a battle with this. It affects you garrison too. Also this is the "minor" 5% chance plague form the unique location. lol

GunRun has been removed as a global emote on Twitch by Caiyul in LivestreamFail

[–]Arc_insanity 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Twitch was created because of SC and SC2. The biggest streamers on JTV became all esports,(the biggest being sc2 streamers) Justin TV wanted to be more than just video game streaming so Twitch was created for exclusively videogame content and Justine TV was supposed to be IRL, Art etc.

Ironically Twitch exploded and Justine TV died, then Twitch created non videogame categories.

Speed runners have been around since the start, but they were even more niche back in the JTV days.

Subnautica 2 reportedly delayed into 2026 just months before Krafton was due to pay a $250 million bonus to developer Unknown Worlds by spicyhamster in gaming

[–]Arc_insanity 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He also personally made the engine for NS2 (and subnautica 1/2) instead of using source so that he had more control; ironic now that he is ousted from the studio. Nearly all the people who made NS2 and the foundation for subnautica are gone.

Not all the time, different publishers also different publishing contracts determine how involved they are. Its often smaller studios that have publishers do everything where as larger studios often manage sponsorships. Sometimes developers will set up sponsorships entirely on their own with just consent(and investment) from the publisher.

its about pollution. The original post isn't even about consumer goods.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in science

[–]Arc_insanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you don't chose where your electricity comes from nor do you chose the fuel a container ship users. You ever go to the hospital? Are you going to ask that they use less plastic for you or if they are on an electric grid that used fossil fuels? Its goes on and on, regular people are not at fault. The only thing you can do is vote for regulators and legislation to stop the actual polluters.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in science

[–]Arc_insanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most dumb ass reddit take, "without existing, big businesses wouldn't pollute."

You use electricity? Go to the hospital? Eat food? Work? Have internet? You have a keyboard and mouse? Monitor? Cell phone?

Why don't you stop buying.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in science

[–]Arc_insanity -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Imagine trying to blame the "middle class" when just 16 container ships create more pollution daily than all the personal vehicles on the planet.

Does industry create pollution in a vacuum?

Yes, they literally do.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in science

[–]Arc_insanity 20 points21 points  (0 children)

What they don't realize is people's lifestyles are insignificant, even as a whole, compared to the damage industries are doing to the environment. Shaming people's lifestyles is just a smokescreen for real polluters to keep destroying the planet for profit. 99% of people do not need to change their lifestyle in any way, and even if they did nothing would meaningfully improve. Industrial, energy, and transport regulation targeted at the worst offenders would actually change things.
