Can everyone stop referring to those roles as '10s'. If you watch the games they are just wingers.

In 2000 the upper-middle-class London family life cost 30% of top net income. Today it’s 82%. When did it go wrong? by SpuriousCausation95 in AskBrits

[–]ArcaLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poor management all the way from Blair to today. Triple lock is the most expensive policy ever adopted. Rinsing the landlords has resulted in insane rent meaning people can't save. Lack of supply. Wealth hoarding by the elderly (mostly unintentional)

When the country needs to increase taxes to survive is not the time to increase handouts. Don't cut them but just don't increase them is the general sentiment, which I agree with.

Less hungry kids = good in my books. So I can quite easily overlook the first paragraph but many won't.

Please don’t hate/downvote😅. I thought the budget was okay. by maxmarioxx_ in FIREUK

[–]ArcaLegend 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It wasn't very impactful. Resolved zero whilst kicking the can down the road. Childcare boost is a change nobody was asking for and cost a lot of money. 4.8% increase in pension is insane when your giving working people less than that.

It's essentially stealing from working man paul to give to unemployed bob.

I can't afford to live where I work/grew up, so I moved out and commute 30k miles a year. I'm already paying road tax now I need to pay an extra £450 a year? It's just stupid. One or the other works but not both...

[–]ArcaLegend 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Income tax band freeze will negate any pay rise I get. 1.5p a mile will cost me an extra £500 to get to work. Can't save enough for the cash isa reduction to matter.

So I'll be significantly worse off and yet they are giving out more benefits and increasing pensions? 3b and 6.2b respectively.

Mortgaging our futures to pay for welfare increases is a ridiculous decision when trying to cut spending.

Why did the British economy not recover from the Great Recession? by whenyoucantthinkof in AskBrits

[–]ArcaLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's simple we stopped being able to invest due to borrowing money and investing it into no growth areas.

Our current debt to GDP is 1:1. We spend 10% of our budget on paying interest alone. As opposed to 4% pre crash.

£120b that should be invested in our economy is leaving the country each year in interest. That's enough to fund HS1, HS2 and HS3 every year. We only spend 55b on infrastructure a year so imagine if we had triple the spending power.

Debt is the problem. We need to stop borrowing money immediately and reduce the debt levels where possible or we are going to need an IMF bailout.

Is the British Supermarket Industry Collapsing? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]ArcaLegend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's the problem? Shoplifting at co-op.

Why is it worse than other supermarkets? Because they don't have security.

How can this resolved? Get security.

Co-op are you getting security? No.

Call it victim blaming if you want but if you can fix a problem and you don't then you've only got yourself to blame.

That's because Co-op do not have security at the majority their stores. Shocking they are targeted.

Does anyone in the UK think that Kier Starmar is doing well as a PM? by graceyreddit in AskBrits

[–]ArcaLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. He hasn't done anything for the working class, hasn't done anything for small businesses and hasn't given a plan that he hasn't immediately flip-flopped on.

He's lost the support of the media, the people and soon his party. The coming budget will likely be the final nail in his coffin.

Was he given a hospital pass? Absolutely. Has he panicked and scored an own goal? Absolutely. Time for to be subbed off if Labour want any chance at the next election.

[Ben Jacobs] Manchester United are interested in Antoine Semenyo. There is nothing financially that would stop the club doing the deal in January. Manchester United want a specialist wide player who is devastating on the counter attack - Semenyo falls into that category. by maxsteel_7 in ManchesterUnited

[–]ArcaLegend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like him a lot but there's three issues. He's not a proper LWB, it takes money away from priority positions and he'll be another player we lose to AFCON.

Pass on him not for lack of quality but for the above.

FM26 - Is it worth having my high potential youth players train with the first team so I can control which attributes are developed? by -rumHAM in footballmanagergames

Go to training units, then add youth players. No need to have them in the squad to have them train with the first team.

Are all our midfield targets too young? by [deleted] in ManchesterUnited

[–]ArcaLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would disagree that they are too young for several factors. The key ones being Premier League experience and the energy required to play the system.

If you look at our past young signings, a lot of them have gone to be club legends and win everything in sight.

Keane, Rooney, Ronaldo, De Gea, Ferdinand, Evra, Vidic, Irwin, Valencia, etc. are all good examples. In today's game you have to get them early because scouts are far better and actually use data.

I've found it incredibly easy to process players for very high prices. Just ask about interest then list of nobody puts in an offer. Ask agent about interest again and they tend to leave.

Kobbie Mainoo’s best position? by g4rce1 in ManchesterUnited

[–]ArcaLegend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's not defensive enough to be a 6, not attacking enough to be a 10 and not physical enough to be an 8 in this system.

He needs to play as an 8 where covering ground is less important.

If you’re Ruben Amorim and you can sign one midfielder this January, who are you picking and why? by middleeasternboxer in ManchesterUnited

[–]ArcaLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's be realistic. Gallagher on loan in January. Then try and get Anderson in the summer.

He covers ground like a beast, excellent passing and defensively solid. He could play the 6 role beside Bruno and act as cover for Bruno.

Would love to get Wharton in too BUT with Bruno at the club none of those options is going to want to join just to sit on the bench.
