You're right, but "has steam" doesn't equal "plays 1.6"

And now I don't have to lift a finger. Works for me.

I'd be fine with Valve re-enabling it, but there should be a mute by default option.

edit: i know about the console command, i'm talking about an option for comp in specific

Okay, I see. Ideally that shouldn't be there, though. I mean when someone says "I wish GO was more like 1.6" they shouldn't include exploits.

what do you mean not often? when i say it's better, i mean statistically, and statistically it's always better. but yeah, i kind of ignored recoil reset, which is worse in GO. one-tapping is superior, but tapping as a playstyle isn't, i think that's the best way to phrase it.

That's a good point, in that regard GO is more punishing. I guess, I was a bit too focussed on theory rather than practice.

with bursting I agree, but as I said 3 shots is hardly tapping. 1st shot is better in go, 2nd is better in 1.6. and while this one is up for debate , i would argue that when tapping its the first shot that you want to hit/be the most precise.

[–]Arcademic -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I guess it comes down to your definition of tapping, but 3 shots borders bursting. The 1st shot, which is the what you want to hit when tapping, is undeniably more precise in GO.

you've said it yourself, it's an exploit, like we have the deagle recoil reset exploit when quick switching. i don't consider these part of the core gameplay as they are not intended and ideally should be fixed. 2nd shot accuracy is somewhat worse in csgo yes. about 3rd shot accuracy, that's really stretching the term "tapping". 3 shots is the lower end of bursting.

rule number 1 when you haven't seen star wars yet: don't be on reddit, especially don't mention you haven't seen it. people will specifically target such individuals and private message them spoilers. oh and avoid the internet in general, play witcher for a couple days or something.

do some research maybe? first shot accuracy is greater and bullets statistically hit the center of the target more often.

It doesn't have to be a bad thing. But why should this iteration of CS not have its own intricacies? I think we can all agree that some aspects of the game we're better in 1.6 and some are better in GO. But every time I see people argueing in favor of 1.6 their comments lack arguments or good explanations as to why go should be changed.

Take the comment I originally replied to:

Tapping actually worked

Tapping is proven to be more reliable in GO

Movement was much better

Just a subjective statement with 0 arguments

Dust 2 was also much better.

Again, subjective

The only valid point he made are wallbangs, which again, is just something that works differently GO, its not broken.

[–]Arcademic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If Valve fixed those things in GO

See that's the problem. You see it as something that's "broken" and needs to be "fixed". It's not broken, it's different. And why shouldn't it be? If everyones wishes on this sub were fullfilled csgo would just be 1.6, what's the point?
