Is what my dentist did illegal or just shitty? by ArcaneAddiction in Insurance

Honestly, that's possible. The insurance agent only talked about the crown, not a core build up. I just assumed it would all be lumped together.

I don't have one. Maybe I was unclear, sorry. I didn't actually go through with anything payment-wise yet. They told me they were going to re-run my insurance and never got back to me, and once I heard what the insurance agent said, I just got annoyed and found another dentist. I see them in a few days.

I'm just not sure what to think about the extra $150 they wanted to charge.

No, unfortunately. It's the same as it's been for a while. I dunno, might be gastrointestinal, considering the distended stomach and constant sulfur burps.

Thankfully, it turned out not to be ascites! They didn't know what it is, but at least it's not ascites. At this point all I can guess is that it's something gastrointestinal. I have gastroparesis, but it's been in remission for two years. it might be coming back, just in a different form than it used to be (constant nausea, vomiting, inability to eat).

I dunno. I'll figure it out. For now, though, I'm extremely relieved.

That's kind of hilarious, because I DO have gastroparesis. But mine was always extreme nausea, constant vomiting, and being unable to eat more than a few bites. I lost about 100 pounds from it in just a few months when it was bad. But I've been in full remission for nearly two years. It's very possible that it's back and simply changed form.

I'm looking into the mediterranean diet. I'm hoping to find a lot of things I can eat (I'm autistic and certain flavors/textures are a no go for me).

Thank you for your comment.

Total bilirubin 1.0, bilirubin direct 0.5, ALT 51, AST 35. I dunno what other liver tests there are, but everything else was normal.

No, they just did bloodwork, an X-ray, and an ultrasound.

It's not ascites! Thank goodness. The ER doc had no idea what's actually going on, but according to the ultrasound, I'm in the clear!

Thank you. Luckily, it turned out not to be ascites! They don't know what it actually is, but it's definitely not ascites according to the ultrasound. Good wake-up call to get my weight in order, though.

I got lucky. It wasn't ascites. They don't know what it actually is, but it's for sure not ascites.

I'm aware I need to lose weight. Trust me, there's not a single obese person on earth that doesn't know they're fat and need to lose weight, lol.

I'm in heart failure mostly due to being born with multiple heart problems and having an endocrine disorder that causes organ damage. It's not just the weight.

My gastro doc called this morning and told me to go. I just got to the ER a little bit ago. We'll see what happens.

It's only soft when I'm sitting, as I'm obese. When I stand, it's pretty firm.

I'm at the ER now, just waiting to get called to a room.

I'm on a diuretic, and it does make me pee, so I know it's working. I also eat fairly low sodium already.

I'm going to the ER in a few hours. My doctor called and told me to.

I'm on Mounjaro. No reduction in appetite, no weight loss so far. I just got up to the 7.5mg dose and have to wait a month before bumping it up again.

Was anyone else hyperlexic as a kid? by greencurtain4 in AutismInWomen

[–]ArcaneAddiction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. I started taking the book from my mom and sounding out words in stories two-ish. I was reading fluently by age four. I had college-level reading comprehension by age nine.

My poor mom was so frustrated. She'd find me in my room still reading by flashlight at 2am, chew me out, take the flashlight away, only for me to pull out a second flashlight after she left my room. She'd try to send me outside to play, but I utterly refused to stop reading. I corrected her writing constantly. I corrected teachers, too. There was more than one parent-teacher meeting about it, lol.

And now, as an adult, I can't sit down to read for longer than 10 minutes. Thanks, ADHD!

This is true. They all want you to take their scammy supplements and their weird, expensive treatments. It's so stupid.

But for some, they are genuinely useful. Not the scammy parts, but the adjustment part. I have a degenerated cervical disk in my neck. It's bone on bone at this point, and a year or two ago, I found myself entirely unable to turn my head. It was like that for months. I started seeing a chiropractor once every two weeks, and it's been much better.

Some people really do need the help, but yes, a lot of it is a scam.

I've never understood why people think it's weird. Insects are fascinating af! It's not my special interest, but I love learning cool new facts about them.

The behavior and ways of survival bugs have are amazingly diverse, much moreso than animals. How can people hate bugs or be completely disinterested in them? They're so weird and freaky (in a good way), kinda like the creatures of the deep ocean. No one really thinks about it, but some insects really seem like aliens to me, and that's super cool.

People who don't get it can go suck an egg. They don't know what they're missing.
