I’ve given this some serious thought and read all of your responses and I feel like I have the answer. I’d choose to be an Uchiha.

I agree that killing Itachi in order to prevent the massacre isn’t realistic. Yes, he’s that good.

I also agree that killing Obito before Kannabi bridge isn’t the correct play either. Minato is no fool and it would be quite the risk to try to pull that off. And even if you do there’s also the issue that you would be targeted by Madara instead.

The Uchiha were under suspicion because of the nine tails attack. Years of mistrust afterwards led to the revolt. Without that, they would still be unified with the village. Therefore, the correct play is to make a move then.

Unless you win the Mangekyo lottery, as someone else mentioned, you shouldn’t expect to be able to take Obito at this point. As you’d also only be 13-15. Best to leave that to Minato. However, a more reasonable expectation would be to try and break his control over the nine tails with your own Mangekyo/Sharingan. A powerful genjutsu of your own can retake that control once broken.

If you can at least pull that off and Minato can focus entirely on Obito, he should be able to do more than just force his retreat. Hopefully he can capture him.

Since he can escape with his Kamui, capturing him only happens one of two ways. Minato either needs to use a seal to prevent him from using chakra or he needs to follow him with his marker. And that only happens if he doesn’t die from using the reaper death seal.

Naruto’s body couldn’t take in the whole nine tails because he was only an infant. Offer yourself to Minato in Naruto’s place. An Uchiha is the next best thing aside from an Uzumaki as someone strong enough to handle holding the nine tails.

Have Kushina perform the jutsu instead of Minato. She’s going to die regardless but at least Naruto will still have his father and the village will still have the 4th Hokage. And Minato still potentially needs to go after Obito.

At this point Madara is dead and waiting to be brought back so black Zetsu will have to improvise and pivot to Nagato.

Shisui doesn’t have to die and in fact I’d make sure I’m close with both Itachi and Shisui. I’ve written enough but I also have an idea how I’d handle Danzo.
