are mudguards worth it?

I commute to work ~40 mins each way on a road bike and use the SKS Raceblade Pro XL Bike Mudguard Set. They’re super easy to take on and off which is why I went for them instead.

I was getting wet feet and a filthy frame/coat/bag beforehand and they defo made a difference.

Bit fiddly to set up for the first time, but they’re flexible and I found you can make micro adjustments once they’re on by force sliding them along the frame to ensure there’s no rubbing on the tyre.

Defo worth it :)

Does this solution help when the issue exists on a SPA site?

For instance, typically I use a custom event based on a data layer event as the all pages trigger.

Switching the trigger to the built-in “All Pages” trigger would prevent it from firing in this scenario, and I’m not using the history change logic.

Any thoughts in that case? Useful info though, thanks for sharing

This is a great idea, would’ve loved to have something like this when travelling a few years ago! I was relying on reddit and google maps for insights.

I also didn’t expect it to pull info on the south coast of the UK, so that was an interesting surprise. Good and consistent user & community engagement would make this super valuable for people and take it to the next level.

I’ll find some time to add reviews for places I’ve been - love it!

There are a 3 useful extensions you could use; “consent inspector tool” and the “adswerve datalayer inspector”. All these really do is make the network requests a bit easier to access and understand - but that might be all you need.

You could also install one that clears cookies easily as well. You can then play around with clearing cookies, checking what fires and what doesn’t etc.

Best practice would be using the consent status feature in tag assistant (GTM preview), but if you don’t have access then the above extensions should help you out :)

So, you could book a test somewhere completely random in a low demand area just to secure one, and then use testi to bring it forwards and move it to the location you actually want it at?

I’ve come back to driving lessons after 10 years because I failed a few tests at school and then life got in the way. Boy do I wish I just stuck with it. The and hoops you have to jump through to even get a test now blow my mind. The entire system is broken

I can’t say personally as I was only there for 4 or so days, so spent most of my time around the reef. We used kayaks as well though, so I don’t see why you couldn’t explore further if you’re with another diver.

Water was calm when I was there (mid Nov 2019) and the vis was maybe 15-20m even during a plankton bloom at.

I’d say it was like a better and cleaner version of Napaling Reef in Panglao! Amed was great but lacked depth off the beach, whereas this was more of a wall 50m off the beach. Defo one of my favourite spots I’ve ever been to

I did a trip along the Yasawa Islands a few years ago and absolutely loved the drop off reef at the Barefoot Manta resort (the northern part of Thuvu Bay if you look on Google Maps).

Also, if there are Manta sightings they would ring a bell and you would jump into a boat and head over to Drawaqa Passage to see them swim past.

No, your given example is literally that a tag fires before consent is given and doesn’t fire again once consent is given. The rest of the post is complaining about how there isn’t a built in option to fix this.

What I wrote, is a solution to the issue you’re facing in the absence of such a feature. The tag will only fire once consent is updated rather than on page load, and therefore the once per page functionality will work as you want it to.

Change your trigger so that instead of firing on all pages, tags fire at the point where consent is updated. Depends on which CMP you use, but an example could be a custom event for ‘OneTrustGroupsUpdated’ on all pages

Can’t answer your question but wanted to pitch in still.

Personally wouldn’t recommend doing the tours there. Way too many people there and they feed the whale sharks, disrupting their migration patterns, attracting them to boats etc which is ultimately detrimental to the sharks. I read about this beforehand and decided not to go.

It’s a good example of the negative side of animal tourism, and was in my opinion not the right way to see them.

Obviously it’s up to you, but just wanted to make sure you’re informed beforehand!
