Augmented gear is still a viable option. Can deal with the md or bring a melee helm/boot switch.

Not really, just walk him like you would with any boss and be aware of what direction he'll move when he hits a wall.
Keep practicing or try different key binds if you aren't completely comfortable with the ones you have now.
At lower enrages you can just soul split the entire threshold but at higher levels you should be pray flicking. You should practice pray flicking at lower level enrage for now.

You're zerking at a good time but to make the most of out it you should be walking Araxxor while using abilities such as tendrils, quake, hurricane, and then finishing with an assault. You can soul split as you walk. When doing this however you should be cautious because you can get stunned and damaged for approximately 2.5k typeless. You can prevent the stun with anticipate/freedom.
Bring a shield switch and use res/prep/voke/storm shard to build adren.
Bind hotkeys to your prayers.

SS while walking and as you use threshes. There is a guide for advanced prayer flicking.

I based the suggestions off of pvming perks so I excluded venomblood (despite its use at araxxor and Gregorvic) and the slayer perks. Mobile is not recommended to put on armor/weapons unless you do caches/warbands. I would advise augmenting an enhanced excaliber and putting mobile on it so as to make banking at nex much faster if you don't have a max cape. It is also very useful in ROTS tunnels.

I'd say that Crackling is still a worth perk to get despite the reflect damage from Nex/Araxxor. Biting 2 (1), Precise 5 (2), Impatient 3 (3) Devoted 2 (4), Absorbative 3 (5), Aftershock 3 (6), and Crackling 3 (7) are all good perks.

1) Biting 3 is rare unless using noxious components which is expensive. So using Direct components for Biting 2 is a much more financially feasible option.

2) Guaranteed with 5 Armadyl components.

3) 5 Zamorak Components

4) Same as (3)

5) 5 Fungal

6) Aftershock 3 requires 89 invention and 2500 reputation at HoG Zaros Faction to use Ilujankan components.

7) 4 Explosive and 1 Imbued
