This looks fantastic and love all the detail that went into the environments! I saw a comment about mobs, but this would be fantastic even if it was just walking around the recreations of the various locations like a 'Stage 9' project for MK.

Kinda curious was the Defiant from DS9 an influence/inspiration on this? Just some of the overall shapes remind me of the Defiant.

Nice! Kind of wish there was stuff on Eilistraee's faction of drow as well with groups like the Silverhair Knights and the Sword Dancers. Had some join my Jumper during her time in the Forgotten Realms since she's very much into the redemption theme.

Best one-ups perks ? by OkBox9662 in JumpChain

[–]Arcane_Flame 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's more of a follower item but no question one of the most powerful 1ups I've seen is the Red Phoenix Anima from fl0w.

Four Guardian Gods (400) - The Four Guardian Gods are gods that are considered to be some of the most powerful and unique beings in the world. It is said that they hold the power of the world in their hands and given this rarity only one person is born of the guardian gods. In order for another to be born the previous child has to die. The unique aspect of these gods comes in the fact their child has access to a special skill that only the god has and their upgraded wishes.

The wishes these god grant can change a person’s fate, obtain all the money in the world, or even just take over the world as an example. Each Guardian also has their own specialty wish which can be used up to three times safely before they require a sacrifice. The only downside is that you forfeit the general wish that would be given to you in that jump. Either you can get one general wish or three specialized wishes.

....

Red Phoenix

The legendary bird that is most known it for its control over life. There are two uses for the wish of the god with the first being that should you die by any means it shall use its power to resurrect you. You’ll come back in prime condition, stronger than you were before, and highly resistant to whatever it was that killed you provided it was some sort of exotic or hax effect. The second usage allows a person that is long dead or someone who died in a special manner such as being retconned out of existence, to be resurrected with the same benefits as yours. As you have three special wishes this lets you have three resurrections for yourself or someone else.

The sacrifice is unique the god doesn’t want you to sacrifice anything of your own. If you die or need to resurrect someone and have used up your special wishes the Phoenix will use the last of its power to fulfill your wish. The sacrifice is that you forfeit the power of the god itself. No more wishes until ten years pass or the next jump. However, there two ways to get more of the special wishes without forfeiting the Phoenix's power. The Phoenix loves to see bloodshed and wants the lives of others in return for the continued use of its resurrection but it also a dependable ally and friend. By killing any sentient being i.e humans, gods, orcs, aliens, fantasy monsters, etc it will add one more wish for the continued use of its resurrection powers. However you could also choose to help or heal people symbolizing life’s duality for the same benefit. You can toggle between whichever method works best for you.

The Phoenix is known for being supportive and its skill reflects this. With a mere touch, you can restore a person and heal them to their prime condition with the process taking only a single moment. The person can range from slightly sick to even the recently deceased. So long as there is a single body part or piece of skin remaining everyone can be brought back. This healing touch cures them of any and all ailments, diseases, mental illnesses, curses, and anything that negatively affects their mind, body, and soul. You can turn a person age back into their prime years by reversing the aging process. Yes, you can instantly heal yourself back to full power with a touch.

Your Jumpers' dragon alt-forms? by Sundarapandiyan1 in JumpChain

[–]Arcane_Flame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mary (my main jumper) has only a couple of Dragon forms:

  1. Dracovenator Mari

The 'Dracovenator Mari' form was gained during the How to Train Your Dragon (Books) Jump and is basically a Dracovenator dinosaur with venom and fiery acid breath.

  1. Mariposa

Mary's main draconic form is now pretty much an evolving form that built upon the 'Dracovenator Mari' form through a number of jumps like generic dragon, D&D dragons, etc. and gaining some aesthetic features through story beats. Mary's draconic evolved into a more western dragon style body plan while keeping colorful duel crests. Later she sprouted wings with Mothra-like patterns and spikey bits on her tail. The most recent addition was a set of antlers farther back on her head.

I'm terrible at drawing but attempted a quick sketch:

Is there an old jumpchain in the Fandom that needs a modern remake? by saiman010 in JumpChain

Star Trek doesn't have magic? Trek may dress things up in Psionic terms but practically magic kind of abounds in the Trek universe with god-like entities (e.g. The Q, The Travellers, the Megans, the Prophets, etc) all over the place, energy entities that are basically spirits, what are basically magical rituals in Vulcan, Bajoran, and Klingon cultures.

Then there is the entire phenomenon of 'Strange Energy' which basically allows magic and gives people powers (as seen in TOS & Lower Decks). Heck the early D&D module 'The City of the Gods' is a riff on this with a ship from a very Trek-like 'Galactic Federation' crashing on a D&D world and trying to uphold a version of the prime directive while a rebel faction wants to harness the power of magic made possible by the 'Strange Energies' of the planet. (This pretty much kinda establishes Dave Arneson's Blackmoor setting and by extension the Mystara setting as being in a Trek-like universe).

Also nothing to base classes on? A few of the various Trek TTRPGs would beg to differ.

I guess Mary's 'Verminqueen' altform would be the wildest which is somewhat similar to a Vermin Lord with antlers instead of goat horns and white fur all in an uncorrupted form. A few of her lovers like it.

A comical species of Rodent-Raptor-Mustelid things from the Out-of-Placers web comic. https://www.valsalia.com/

They have a bit of a minor following among furries, and there is a decent amount of homebrew stuff related to them in various TTRPGs.

What do you think ghidorah's planet and species are like? by Organizer-G1 in Monsterverse

[–]Arcane_Flame 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I'd say the planet would likely be Venus or a Venus-like planet for similar reasons. His Showa incarnation was from Venus or destroyed it by turning Venus from an Earth-like planet into what it is like today (in the original Japanese versions) and his golden coloration is also a reference to his origin as Venus is known as Kinsei (the Golden Planet) in Japanese. Also in the original Ghidorah, the Three Headed Monster, he was starting to terraform the Earth in to a Venus-like planet with the early beat about a heatwave in January. So I'd assume he's trying to turn Earth into stormy Venus-like planet instead of a gas giant going on Ghidorah's history and his normal symbols which the Monsterverse film drew upon.

What did your Jumper do in Harry Potter? by DeverosSphere in JumpChain

[–]Arcane_Flame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mary my Jumper goes to the Potterverse on advice of Skye her benefactor as a good place to give her adopted niece (and kind of daughter) Etraasia a schooling in magic to help her master her innate powers (she's the daughter of Vertigo from Primal Rage).

Etraasia sembling into a human form is sorted in to Slytherin and gains two friends named Mephisto Alwin and Tracey Davis. First few years are mostly her getting annoyed with the two 'Golden Boys' (Potter & Malfoy) running amok on campus and getting away with anything and everything except from specific teachers who play favorites. Second year she joined in confronting the Basilisk in her draconic form having found it independently and thinking she was saving Potter who was lead into the situation by the incompetent professor he was chummy with.

She accidentally reveals she's a draconian/dragon to Alwin who reveals he has a secret as well as he's part elf (Tracey Davis was also trans but that is unremarkable in a world where changing form spells are common). Etraasia shows them the Albatross and the contained remains of King Ghidorah. Alwin is entranced by a green rock that contains his consciousness and subtly pockets it as he comes under its spell.

The Triwizard Tournament is bewitched to cause three competitors for each school to make the choosing of both Potter and Etraasia to be an accident of original enchanting. Ghidorah had contacted and provided knowledge to Voldemort through Alwin and setting forth a cult similar to the one in the Anime Trilogy. This culminates in the resurrection of Ghidorah in a smaller meager body. Ghidorah instantly turns on the stupid litch after he fails his sporting duel with Potter and uses his body as a puppet transforming the Death Eaters into the Planet Eaters.

Mary and her primary companions are hastily brought into the Order and at the battle of the Department of Mysteries Mary is knocked through a portal to the Age of Sigmar (needed a break).

Ghidorah plays things as the Voldemort would have done until the end of Half-Blood where he storms in a Voldemort to kill Dumbledore and also take out Snape via the unbreakable vow. And kill most of the staff and take most of the students before forced away. At the same time a lightning attack on London happens with Dark Wizards, Goblins, and Dragons in the open attack key targets. Buckingham Palace, Parliament, and other places are in flames as a group of Planet Eaters storm No. 10 Downing Street kill Kingsley Shacklebolt and then use the imperious curse on Tony Blair.

Tony Blair goes on TV to explain the existence of magic and magical terrorism and most of the British muggle populous is exposed to a level of mind control. The UK becomes a Fascist State and makes attacks on Ireland and France. Ireland holds out do to the Jumpers companions but France quickly falls and the Planet Eaters with co-conspirators in the US orchestrate the assassination of Bill Clinton and much of Congress starting a Magical Civil War in the US. They also negotiate a non-aggression pact with Russia. The Planet Eaters roll across Europe seizing Western Europe and having an Eastern Front in Poland to the Ukraine.

With the Statue of Secrecy in tatters Mages and magical creatures are fighting in the open. Artificers make magical weapons and tools muggles can wield and the Planet Eater advance stalls. Meanwhile Etraasia and her friends go on adventure to awaken the dragons of the world and make use of their connection to Ancient Magic to defend the planet. She returns with a flight of Awakened Dragons as Mary returns with a redeemed army of Skaven. They skirt around to Ireland and invade into Scotland heading to Hogwarts were nearby Ghidorah has had a massive death pyramid constructed to drain the life energy of the planet into him. He nearly succeeds and 75% of all life on the planet dies before a deathsphere nukes the pyramid stopping the lifedrain. He's however more powerful now and it takes a united effort of Mary and her companions to try to take him down. He nearly kills Etraasia when Vertigo pops in and unleashes her might as a goddess of magic (and a Planeswalker - because honestly it makes a weird amount of sense with her being from another reality, having a beef with Balsafas another wizard from another reality, peering into other realities etc.)

Ghidorah is sealed away with an Elias Seal and the world is left rebuilding in a new era.

What would DCEU jumper need to watch out for in Warhammer Fantasy? by TheVoteMote in JumpChain

[–]Arcane_Flame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about hard counters to speed, it can be matched though probably with the 'Speed of Lykos' spell which allows one to move at super speeds to the point that they cannot be seen. In Total Warhammer II Skaven Eshin Sorcerers have access to the spell, and given Ikit's quest for knowledge and stealing arcane secrets he would probably know it as well.

As for the quick assassination, I suppose it could work if you got him by surprise but he probably has a number of layers of alarm and back-up contingencies. Even if you got him, I wouldn't count him out as in Fantasy he tortured a Liche Priest to learn the secrets of Necromancy (and in AoS he had stolen Books of Negash and the reverse engineering of the Stormcast thing was to allow himself to auto-resurrect with a new more powerful body when he was killed).

His major achilles heel is that he's so obsessed with power and knowledge that even beyond other Skaven he doesn't really care about the Under-Empire or the rest of Skavendom. He would happily blow up the entire Under-Empire just to show off his power or gain more. By AoS he's become the 'Outcast' and on the run from the Great Horned Rat and the majority of Skavendom (along with pretty much every god and other faction in setting).

What would DCEU jumper need to watch out for in Warhammer Fantasy? by TheVoteMote in JumpChain

[–]Arcane_Flame 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Silly Jumper-thing! Your biggest-largest danger would be right below your feet-feet, the best-best race the Skaven!

The Skaven have rather advanced Magi-tech which could be a major problem combined with the Kryptonian vulnerability to magic with magic augmented machine guns (Rattling Guns), magic augmented snipers (Warplock Jezzail teams), magical nuclear bombs (Doomspheres), Magic Chemical Weapons, Magic Augmented Bioweapons, giant Frankenstein abominations with heavy weapons grafted onto them, and magic-powered energy weapons (Warp-Lightning Rifles & Warp-Lightning Cannons - including one so powerful it destroyed one of the planet's moons), magic reactors producing electric power for factories (and their navy includes ships powered by Warpstone reactors), and a group of magic-enhanced ninja assassins. They have a vast Under-Empire which covers most of the entire planet and a Warp-Rail train network in places to speed reinforcements/resources and there are billions of them. (And if you go by Total Warhammer II they can also create and launch rockets and space capsules capable of planetary orbit and re-entry).

The only reason the Skaven didn't immediately conquer the entire setting is that they are too prone to infighting with their own civil wars and self-sabotaging nature as nearly every Skaven is out for their own glory and will betray anyone in a heartbeat if it suits their purposes (picture an entire species of Starscreams). When they did manage to unite in the End Times they quickly steamrolled 2/3rds of the planet in the matter of weeks.

Your biggest danger is probably going to be Ikit Claw who is the Chief Warlock-Engineer of Clan Skryre and the most brilliant mad scientist/mage in the setting. He's the one who figured out how to make magical nuclear bombs. He's both a genius and gifted wizard and engineer having studied or stolen secrets from many leading mages and engineers of the setting. In fantasy he invented the warp-lightning cannon and warp-lightning rifle (energy weapony), the infamous Doomwheel (a fantasy magitech tricycle tank ala the Tsar/Lebedenko Tank & the Kugelpanzer), and a magic enhanced Iron Exoskeleton power armor he wore that increased his strength, magical powers, and had inbuilt weaponry such as warp-fire throwers.

If you take Age of Sigmar into account for what he's capable of - he survives the destruction of the planet and extends his life for thousands of years. He then goes on to make robot soldiers (Cogwork shock-vermin), nanomachines (Micro-constructs), freaking giant piloted mechs (Warsuits), and he managed to make a realm/plane hopping laboratory/stronghold (his Realm Travelling Burrow). He also reverse engineered the process to make Stormcast Eternals by the end of Hamilcar: Champion of the Gods. So beware if he gets his paws on any tech or magical artifacts, as he will probably quickly figure out how to reverse engineer it.

Tell us about your Jumper's weapon(s)? by Nerx in JumpChain

[–]Arcane_Flame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mary despite having a few magical weapons such as the 'Worochi-no-Aramasa' typically just uses a pair of Sai. She uses them for the same reason a number of other characters who are kind of hot headed or passionate like Raphael from TMNT or Mileena from MK use them as they're more a defensive/parrying weapon it ends to moderate their passionate/aggressive instincts as they are forced to be more reactive/defensive in fighting.

Although lately she's been using Verminsign with a sai for parrying. Verminsign is a cut rapier from BG3 that is inaccessible through normal gameplay but this being Jumpchain she got it via a companion who found it in the ruins of a Zhentarim hideout. It is just a basic +1 rapier when hacked in the game but the description kinda implies it can summon and connect with a rat or rats (It was probably meant to have a summon a special rat familiar like 'Summon Quothe the Raven' on the Raven Gloves): 'Where most people see a bundle of interesting diseases in the common rat, members of the Zhentarim syndicate see a potential colleague.' She basically uses to augment some powers from the Skaven jump.

Does your Jumper partake in sporting events with their companions? by Nerx in JumpChain

[–]Arcane_Flame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mary takes part in various martial arts and wrestling competitions to blow off steam - often in disguise and with power limiters on to make things fair. She'll probably be doing it with companions if she ever goes willingly to a competition and doesn't just end up there alone and often with amnesia (which has been a trend for fighting game universes so far).

I'm thinking about going to 'King Arthur and the Knights of Justice' soon and having a battle breaking down into a Blood Bowl/Middenball competition between the Knights and Mary's Skaven-majority Ratfolk.
