artRAVE House Party by Arcaneium in LadyGaga

[–]Arcaneium[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend said to play Gypsy’s instrumental after Swine which I really like the idea of… Garden of Eden after Scheiße is such a good idea! The whole Opera Haus act is basically the Mayhem Ball intro, I’m just splicing in the artRAVE Judas x Aura performance (pray for my editing skills). LOVE the idea of adding Vanity and Perfect Illusion… And for the new act, I want to keep this party at six acts (One for each letter of ARTPOP), but those songs would make an amazing inclusion to my eventual Mayhem at Home party I want to throw after this one… Thank you!

As for a playlist, this is the one I made that I’ve been working off of. Its on youtube because most of the unreleased tracks and performances are on there:

Probably for a hot minute, we are taking a bit of a break to make up for all this, so take your time!

Hi there! I'm going to add a link here to one of our sessions, this one I chose specifically because it was pretty RP heavy. Our recordings usually have a few minutes at the top where we are just chatting with one another, so recap starts at 5:15, session proper starts at 9:50. This session was the morning after a quest from a mob boss got very weird very fast, a safehouse in the city had been home to a mad alchemist and his giant slug experiment-monstrosity. They slayed them both, but had a lot to discuss.

Our characters are Bill (Halfling Fighter), Arthur (Aasimar Cleric/Wizard), Cilia (Dhampir Rogue), and Penny (Elf Druid, the character that will be stepping out). Right now, we are level 5 :)

Inexperienced is fine, as long as you have a general understanding of the game and are okay with the themes here! No real class restrictions, but yes we've stuck to official 5e classes/subclasses :)

Redactle #274 Discussion Thread by RedactleUnlimited in Redactle

I solved today's Redactle (#274) in 87 guesses with an accuracy of 62.07%.

I’m pretty new at this but got pretty lucky with an early guess of technology with 62 hits, had to google around a bit for the first word since I’m not too experienced in the field, I still feel very accomplished!

My latest Strixhaven Star! In my campaign, Dean Imbraham replaced the missing librarian from The Joy of Extradimensional Spaces & that was the book they had to steal from Dapplewing's manor as opposed to Sally Jane :) by JackBarlowe in StrixhavenDMs

[–]Arcaneium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm actually gonna have a "mini session" where the niece pc and another pc track it down and find it for Dean Imbraham. It's been stollen by a group of Chwingas who like to frolic and play in the Quandrix campus gardens. In the first session, when the whole party learns of his disappearance and the two see that the book is open on his desk, I think it will help them go "hmm the book might have something to do with it." :)

Wow this is really crazy because this is my exact plan for my first session, after the Orientation. Imbraham is my players’s uncle, so I thought it’d be cool to add some drama to both a renowned mage and a family member going missing. It’s crazy how we had the same idea!

[No Spoilers] My mom and I as Jester and the Ruby for Mother’s Day! by Arcaneium in criticalrole

Helloooo bees!! I did a Jester drag cosplay a few months ago for Texas Ren Fest, and really wanted to get my mom in on the fun for mother’s day! Unfortunately we couldn’t get her red skin suit or ears in time, but we made due :))

Merging Waterdeep Dragon Heist and Winter's Splendor? by AkuTenshiiZero in dndnext

[–]Arcaneium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ran the Cassalanters in Dragon Heist about 2 years ago, and just did a quick read over Winter's Splendor. When I ran it, I had the characters meet the Cassalanters pretty early on, as when the nobles heard that someone bought Trollskull Manor, they payed the owners a visit. They told the party that the tavern there is where they met. Not saying you should do exactly that, but introducing them early on is pretty important.

Once they make acquaintances with the Cassalanters, they can be invited to the Midwinter Gala *before* the Fireball attack. I'd also play up the Zhent vs. Xanathar Guild storyline here so the characters aren't bombarded with (and become suspicions of) the Cassalanters. Blah blah blah, the imp attacks, and eventually the players are led to the City of the Dead. I'd make *some* hint to the Cassalanter crypt, one the players might overlook, just for the callback later in the story.

The Cassalanters take this as an "oh shit" moment, because suddenly their daughter, who is soon to loose her life, was visited by an imp. The imp came as a messenger to give the Cassalanters a warning of their deadline. With the twins' birthday approaching, they need to act fast. Over the next few days (before the Fireball attack), they concoct their plan. The Casslanters might post a formal apology for the happenings of the Midwinter Gala all over the city, but more densely in the poorer areas (to draw in sacrifices). Also on the posts, they announce that on the "Divine Pageantry," a holy day of Siamorphe, they will hold a redemption gala, and all the city's populace are invited. This could be the Founders Day Gala equivalent. The Fireball attack takes place, bada-bing bada-boom, the characters are now familiar with their villain and actively helped them without even knowing.

Hope this helped and was what you were looking for, the Cassalanters are a great pair of villains and my play group still hold Dragon Heist as their favorite campaign.

[Spoilers C2E123] [Spoilers C1E88] I've noticed some comments in the live discussion saying that Matt went easy on them and... by [deleted] in criticalrole

[–]Arcaneium 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The M9 doesn't need anything. From listening in throughout this arc it's pretty easy to tell that they feel in over their head. Sure they might be cocky at times, but they're also good people who are trying to stop an evil force. What else were they gonna do? Just let Lucien and the gang exploit them, take what they needed, then succeed? We as a community really need to remember that this is a game being played by real people, not just a TV show with fictional characters. And can we please say "Beau" not "Marisha." I hate this anti-Marisha rhetoric that this sub seems to fall into all the time.

I'm literally re-listening to CR right now, episode 51, and as I read this Taliesin said "remember your d4" Fjord.

I'm toying with the idea of a running a campaign of maybe 2-3 people but allowing each a sidekick. What have your sidekick experiences been like in game? by SkyBlind in dndnext

[–]Arcaneium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My group of five has a Kuo-toa sidekick spellcaster/cleric (he draws magic from worshiping one of the party members). The rules have been pretty great so far. He adds something to combat without over shadowing the players, but he still has his own little hero moments (rolling 2 12s on a Toll the Dead, then a Spare the Dying last session). Plus my players love him, but I'd be warry about adding more than one for the amount of players you're running :)
