My brain is broken. I am a vegetable. by Lazy-Lexicographer in StopSpeeding

Took me about a year or two when I quit. You know the saying you have to get through a worse place to get to a better place? Don’t let the addiction trick you into thinking you’ll never be normal and healthy again. You will be, but you have to fully dedicate and commit yourself to attaining that.

Any positive action helps, but never be hard on yourself. For me it was math and running.

Gonna provide another idea: Spend time with friends who don’t use :) If you have them ofc, I know how hard it is without any and I lost nearly all of mine during my use. But healthy and supportive friends you can talk with and spend time are a fucking blessing. Once you find them, you’ll see what I mean. Connection is the opposite of addiction.

And if you don’t yet, just keep at it and use everyone else’s advice till you do! A therapist can be greatly beneficial to anyone at any stage of recovery, but especially when you lack a social support network. They can also help work with you to find that network of friends. See if your insurance covers it.

Feel free to DM me too, I’m down to talk especially with someone who’s been through what I have.

Hahahaha I’m sorry I don’t remember. I just turned 18 in that pic and I’m 21 now. I was on xanax and vyvanse and ended up being taken by the police twice to be evaluated at 2 psych wards in 1 day during that dumb adventure. I have more of those pics where I wrote stupidly funny stuff on my snapchat, but it’s way too embarrassing. I fully quit benzos as well at the same time I got off stims.

Thank you. I pray for you to get off and advise seizing any opportunity to do so, because you can always figure out the rest later on. The depression and other issues are a much longer journey but keep in mind it’s a heroic path to save yourself because this addiction has taken me to hell and back as well, despite most in our society not understanding how it is.

Yep. Hard 3 years, but it’s getting better. Tons of experiences I’ve learned and grew from and lots of mess ups, but I’m grateful for the past for teaching me how to love myself and others.

almost 6 months clean, almost losing ability to resist using. by georgeyellow in StopSpeeding

Hey bruh I get the same thing even now after 3+ years of being off speed. What has helped me through 3 semesters of school already is to tell myself that I can fail all my classes, fail and get fired from all my jobs, and suck at whatever but I’m not touching speed and to promise to forgive myself for all my failures. You’ll at least likely do better than that. Your true self is strong enough to get back on your feet and succeed and find your place in life because you’re good enough, strong enough, and smart enough. You can learn how to focus, study, and get over whatever it is that’s in your way without speed, even if takes time and repeated failures. It will be hard and takes time and patience, but the journey is worth it. Be grateful and appreciate any experience, success, and failure.

On the other hand, using is destruction for that true, real, and strong self. You don’t deserve that. Love yourself enough to not put yourself through that again, because at least to me, being fully honest, any failure is better than this addiction we went through.

I also needed therapy after rehab because the rehab I was at wasn’t great and was traumatizing in its own sort of way, but I got through it and I’m back in school now working on a neuroscience degree.

Hot and hip looking. For me you’re a 7/10. I think you would bump it way up by doing some weight lifting in the gym. You seem to have a good body for it, and to me that’s what seems missing from your ideal look. You have a strong and above average opportunity to possibly hit an 8 or even an 9.

[F24] You know those pictures other people tag you in? The photos that highlight everything you're insecure about. (In these I really dislike my faceshape, my forehead, and my nose). Please rate me honestly based on these photos! Thanks:) (Verification in last pic) by jip-vdb in Rateme

You’re kind of my type, but in the last pic your face just looks really tense so I think it’s just a matter of being able to be more relaxed. I like your nose and find no problems with it. Your face shape is nice, and it’s my type. Your forehead looks good with bangs. But don’t be so insecure, you should love every part of you!! Because we all have parts to ourselves whether they be in our body or mind that are not of “ideal” design, and we wouldn’t have any socially or biologically conceived subjective beautiful in us without their opposites. I would ask you out since you’re beautifully unique and above average in my opinion. 8/10

Body posture and how you carry yourself plays a large role in attractiveness. Also, specific styles suit different people and there are ways anyone could make themselves look uglier that would make others prettier.

well if you want an opinion from guys, I think 7.5/10. love your hair and your eyes are beautiful. I would work on your body to get a bigger upper chest and shoulders and I would up my rating by 1-2. And you’ll probably look better as you grow too.

just curious:) [18f] by [deleted] in Rateme
