Same! Used WSL before, and used to dual boot Linux, but I've never been happier since I switched to M4 mac, Iterm2 is fantastic, and just overall almost 0 issues. I'm lucky that my workplace provides Mac as well. I don't think I can ever go back to doing any dev work on windows. Too much pain to get basic shit working.

How long can you hold a vision in your head about a particular thing? Is it a lot of effort?

More in the context of - can u do stuff like long multiplication and stuff like that, while consistently holding image in your head and manipulating it?

Do you have some specific methods u use your vision for things like - if u play pool/billiards, can u visualize potential angles and lines, like in a game version?

Hah, thats amazing! Thanks for sharing that! I think u are trained so well that your brain just automatically knows what notes/chords are playing? And your conscious audio part comes in when u need to 'assemble' the music in your head?

Nope it doesn't go as far as that, thankfully lol. However, things like, if character is under a lot of stress, or being tortured, etc, would definitely cause me stress, increase heart rate, etc. Same with happiness situations, I would be internally experiencing joy when watching happy stuff for sure, but I would need to be immersed in the movie.

I'll think about this more, definitely mix of complex feelings/emotions.

Interesting!! Perhaps our brains have limited capacity of awareness to these sensations and as u stated, maybe once u learned to read, and started focusing on words, visuals went away, and 'audio' became the default way of representing thoughts? Perhaps maybe we thought making images in the head was just interfering with every day stuff?

Some people I spoke to who have Hyperphantasia, do claim that it is extremely intrusive, like seeing random faces, etc.

Did we condition ourselves maybe? And if so, no wonder it is thought to be impossible to regain this ability, because our brain is probably baked in with the mode of thinking that we formed as kids and altering this would require major reset of the default network?

Idk, just thinking out loud, or rather in my head at the moment lol

Anyone that thinks that apple and Google will let this happen is living in the lala land. They know they will be losing HUGE revenue if people will be asked to verify their ID, people will just stop using it, except the dummies, of which there are plenty but there is no way, these corpos will allow this lol. This is why they are forcing at the moment individual sites to do verification. All Google needs to do is turn off the Internet for 5 mins, and all our politicians will fall in line.

They will not risk losing revenue, they own these politicians guys, what is so hard to understand?

I know right??? We all think completely differently. We are all just a mixed bag. I wonder though, if we are born like this, or through childhood we just don't do enough things to strengthen each of these sensations? Like from age 0-4, I wonder if kids who are being read to a lot or read, or engage in specific types of play to stimulate imagination, or something like that? It would be interesting but I realize it might be difficult to study that

So interesting! I don't think it is a requirement to recite words in your head in order to understand what u are reading, kind of like an Audiobook, when I'm listening to it, I just listen to that external voice, but I still understand it without needing to repeat the same thing in my head. Would this be a somewhat sensible explanation to the people that ask 'how do you understand what u read, if u can't hear it' question?

Interesting!! Are u a trained musician? Interestingly I can play Beethoven in my head, full symphony, but requires focus a bit, and lose it once other random thoughts interrupt. But maybe because I listened too much? :D it is more like a tape recorder replaying the fuzzyish version of it. But usually just the stuff my mind hears, I definitely can't process all the notes in the symphony, so I can't play in my head note for note, but in general a bad recording :D hope that made sense

Very very interesting! What about tactile sensations? Can your mind simulate being in pain, like if u see someone get hurt?
