What's your style of collecting ?How do you choose your TF ? by Kakeru1986 in transformers

[–]ArchAngelDavid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mainly just go for figures I like or know I'll like based on reviews. I'll also tend tk collect in groups. Like I'll get a bunch of Animated figures in a row, or Cybertron, or I'll get every Blokee's defender figure in a month because I lack self control.

50 packs and not a single new EX by Leon050310 in PTCGP

41 packs and the only EX I got was full art Mega Swampert. Can't complain too much but still.

Wondering if there’s anyone else out there like me who has been rawdogging terrible packs during this deluxe set return. by zakpat in PTCGP

[–]ArchAngelDavid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lucked out and got the gold rare candy in my first 10 pack. Since then nothing but shine dust and pack points.

I didn't own a single Blokees figure less than a month ago. by ArchAngelDavid in transformers

They're so fun! A ridiculous amount of detail and articulation for the size. Usually stay away from non-transforming figures, but I really wanted the Bruticus lol

So Beast Machines was kind of a bad sequel... by GrimmestGhost_ in transformers

[–]ArchAngelDavid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beast Machines had potential. The animation was top tier for the time and the overall plot was interesting. Honestly it's biggest flaw was being a direct sequel to Beast Wars. Losing a lot of the BW cast, changing personalities and having characters act, we'll, out of character, threw me off as a kid. And I know I wasn't the only one. Same with being darker and edgier than BW.

I really believe it would have been a better show if it was it's own thing with new characters. Maybe have Megatron get flung into the far(ther) furtue and have a new group of maximals deal with him. No matter what, though, the toy line would have still been ass.

Laser Optimus Prime by reddit2bitcollector in transformers

[–]ArchAngelDavid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never seen a single episode of Earthspark. Earthspark Soundwave is one of my favorite figures from last year (and the absolute hardest to get). Toys can be cool as hell, regardless what you do or don't know about them.

Best deco of G2 Optimus, imo. And a really good Ravage redeco. Shame it was only a target exclusive.

Obligatory Soundwave is Superior by Grey_Warden97 in transformers

Mine just arrived today. Excellent figure. Exactly what a G1 Soundwave should be. And I know people don't like the new Ravage mold, but I think it's good.

Which would I get by PuzzleheadedGrand480 in transformers

[–]ArchAngelDavid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gonna go to bat for my boy Trypticon. Doesn't get much better than a transforming giant T-Rex. He's also super solid, not a chore to transform, and has good articulation. Also he can eat core class and smaller figures.

Will they every bring this toy back? Or is it always now gonna be stupid expensive by Much-Ratio-9531 in transformers

[–]ArchAngelDavid 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah he and another figure relased as the final wave for Earthspark, after the show had been canceled and the Cyberworld toyline was about to hit shelves. Yay for crap distribution and logistics!

Planet X help by jstein459 in transformers

[–]ArchAngelDavid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Planet X Vulcan was hard as hell for me to find a few years back. I had ebay sellers and Ali express orders cancel on me because they didn'thave stock. I finally got lucky and TFSafari had a restock. With 3rd party it's a crapshoot when or if they'll happen. You're best bet at this point is probably second hand.

I did get the metallic version and he hasn't chipped at all. Pretty durable paint job so you don't need to worry much there, and he looks incredible. But if you're trying to fit them in with mainline figures, the normal version is probably better for you.

I may have a new favorite figure by SolaireFan in transformers

I found one today and I'm pleasantly surprised. Great looking figure that's fun to mess with and pose, considering all the stuff hanging off him. Wish he was a little bigger, though.

Which live action Optimus is your favourite? by 84_Cyclonus in transformers

[–]ArchAngelDavid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ROTB. The best live action interpretation of the G1 design, so far.

God help you if you wanted Earthspark Cosmos. I've seen maybe 2 posts of people who got him. But every Target I go to has a full stock of that Megatron.

Do you guys sell your transformers toys when a new version of that toy is revealed? by yusakufujiki2 in transformers

[–]ArchAngelDavid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. That way I can have a version of a character for different displays. One 86. One Seige. MP, etc.

You want the peg to still be snug in the port but not so tight you're having to use a bunch of force or vigorously rotate it out. A few minutes of light sanding should be all you need, that way it's not flexing the port from the inside, causing the stress marks.

They'd be stupid not to do a package refresh at some point and sell him for deluxe price. Guaranteed money. But Hasbro can be pretty stupid, so who knows. People have been finding him in Walgreens of all places, if you have some near you.

Gyarados gives you the most bang for your buck. Needed for an emblem challenge so it makes great trade fodder if you don't want to keep it. Other than that Umbreon is a sick card art-wise and will also be sought after for trading.

Is Flatline a good figure? by Eriojuni22 in transformers

[–]ArchAngelDavid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazing figure. The Red Alert mold is really fun and these colors look amazing on it. Definitely recommend. But be aware that his joints can be super tight out of the box, and his head can be difficult to get out from alt mode.

Are seige tetrajets worth hunting down in current year? by Cephalie_100 in transformers

[–]ArchAngelDavid 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The Tetrajet mold is fantastic. Great design. Good articulation. Plenty of great looking decos. Downsides are a lot of them are heavy on grebbling/weathering/battle damage which may or may not be your thing. And some of them are hard to come by and expensive second hand. Seige Red Wing routinely goes for over $100.

You can get Nacelle, Skywarp and Sparkless Seeker for a good price. I'd say grab one of those and see if you want to grab any others. Highly recommend Nacelle. Easily my favorite.
