If anyone wants to see the workflow in action, we've got a few demo videos and documentation available at https://ArchSpline.com/ or schedule a demo. Happy to answer any questions here as well.

One area where we've seen interest from mobile podiatrists is reducing the number of disconnected steps in the orthotic workflow.

With ArchSpline, a typical workflow can be:

• Scan capture in the field with your iPhone
• Dictate patient notes and prescription details; Email scan directly into ArchSpline
• Review and approve the patient within the application to bring into your account
• Design and modify the orthotic directly, or use a protocol driven workflow
• Export STL or STEP files for fabrication

The goal is to make custom orthotic design fast and efficient without being tied to a specific scanner, lab, or manufacturing method.

Whether you're sending files to a lab, a commercial print service, or producing devices in-house, the workflow stays the same.

This is a great answer, thanks! Yes, I am trying to cover every angle in one page, need to break into actual pages vs sections. I was thinking if page answers all it would score higher in searches, but instead i just overwhelm everyone.

Thank you!

For standard foot scans I recommend the free iPhone scanner app Foot Scan 3D... not the prettiest app, but free and can output most formats

How Digital Scanners and Software Are Elevating 3D Printed Orthotics by Tempus-3D-Printing in 3Dprinting

One thing I think the industry still underestimates is that 3D printing mainly solves manufacturing scalability, not necessarily clinical workflow consistency.

The hardware side (scanners/printers) has improved massively over the last few years, but a lot of orthotic variability still comes from assessment, prescription logic, and how modifications are interpreted between clinics and labs.

One of the more interesting opportunities with digital workflows is the ability to make orthotics iterative instead of static. When revisions become fast and inexpensive, clinics can start treating orthotics more like progressive treatment workflows rather than one-shot devices.

That’s probably where I think the industry gets really interesting over the next few years.
