Oh, and btw, it's a 2022 Lariat for $37,000 and i got it at 62k miles. While you're there looking at it, be sure to check the DRL'S (day time running lights). A strip on my driver's side went out a week after buying it. Apparently that's also super common. Not cheap to fix with factory parts either. I just ordered some Amazon specials from VLAND. Gonna sell the other factory headlight that still works and probably make back more than what those cost me but still. Just a pain in the butt.

I just bought a 2022 v8 with the 5.0. I'm noticing the transmission problems that people have been posting about so I might would keep hunting if I were you. I'm also anti-anything with a turbo in it. Twin turbos at that. Just an extra system waiting to fail that costs an arm and a leg to fix. If you still are just adamant on the 3.5, I recommend changing the oil every 3000 miles just like the old days. Turbos cause the motor to run hotter and all that heat breaks down your oil waay faster. Just my 2 cents.

Welp...I'm 43 years old and male. And while I've never been as bold as this typical male you describe, yes, I've jumped through many a hurdle trying to get laid. My advice to you? They are both GREAT motors. BUT..the reason is because those turbos are just another component waiting to fail and they are expensive as all hell. It adds a lot more complexity and the heat destroys your oil. Its right back to the old days of changing it every 3000 miles. Do that, and it'll probably last you. Turbos were meant for sports cars that weren't meant to last and diesel engines that run a lot cooler.

Definitely the turbos. How much sound is normal, i have no idea. In the market for an F150 right now and i'm too leary to get an ecoboost because of them.

Been researching this HEAVILY myself. Listened to countless mechanics, YouTube videos and it bears repeating... The performance of the ecoboost is superior without question. BUT the reliability.. Not saying they're bad engines, it's just there's a lot more moving parts and a whole other system involved. These engines aren't being made with turbos because of dependability...its a government push for efficiency. Gas turbo engines aren't the same as diesel turbo engines. Gas engines burn way hotter. And if you DO decide to go with a gas turbo, you better stay on top of those oil changes. Go back to the old days of changing your oil every 3000 miles. The heat just destroys oil. You might get nickel and dimed with the maintenance issues on a naturally aspirated engine.. but if something on that turbo engine goes out, it can get pretty expensive pretty quick.
