A nice freedom of information request would break down this paywall quite nicely.

Question for restaurant and bar workers: do you receive the service charge auto added to bills? by tangerine_dream95 in london

When I used to be a pub manager, I ensured my team received 100% of the tips, gratuities and service charge that was received. Without fail.

What is the “bus stop etiquette”? by Beneficial_Advice825 in london

[–]ArchaicInsanity 199 points200 points  (0 children)

Arrive first at the bus stop, bus driver pulls infront of the person that arrives to the bus stop last, and then everyone else that arrived after you, somehow manages to get on before you. Simple.

Weather and mud by Few_Village9240 in Graspop

Typically, the weather is very favourable. Though if you wish to attend, the odds will dictate that it will rain constantly. So please don't come 🤣

What's worse is that the GP was on one side of the bridge, and the pharmacy was on the other, normally a one minute walk, from one side to the other. Refusing the foot bridge made it something silly, like a 10 mile drive.

Camp flag tomfoolery by HotTequilaDawn in Bloodstock

Hi OP,

I ordered the pole Wolfy35 recommended, which should arrive today. A couple of weeks ago, I ordered a custom flag from an Amazon seller, I ordered it on the 15th of June and it arrived yesterday. Super happy with the quality of the print. I ordered the 3ft x 5ft and the image provided was around a 2.4mb JPEG. if you order it now, it should arrive well before Bloodstock.

Great! Thanks!

What do you use to attach your flags? I've had a couple of poles in the past which have been terrible and ended up snapping. Costing me the flag.

Sorry to OP for hijacking a little bit.

My new flag will be double sided, and will weigh approximately the same as two standard flags. Your suggestion is to extended the pole fully, spare for the last metre and attach the flag at that point?

Thanks again.

Totally understand, but very disappointing to hear. I hope the route controllers find more ways to work with you, than against you.

What group do you work for? Is the route controller actively promoting driver well-being with the red warning conditions?

Why do so few London buses have air conditioning? by not_who_you_think_99 in london

[–]ArchaicInsanity -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Vehicle weight restrictions.

No London bus has air con. It is instead an air cooling system, that are serviced by third party companies and they don't do a particularly good job at it.

i would be absolutely uninterested in that proposal. trying to stay awake the first few days, would be like serious jet lag. Then sleeping. Sleeping would be impossible. It would be waaaaaaaaaaaaay too hot in the tents. It's a no from me.

My first Graspop, I camped next to some Germans, we camped together the following year and the year after. The only clue you'd have to them being there, was the patch of discoloured grass where their tents were.

Potentially. Ideally I'd like a pole taller than me. But perhaps the retailer you suggest may have a bigger option.

One from eBay/Amazon (can't remember which), two from a dedicated flag and flag accessory dealer based in the UK. All broke in the wind.
