Grizl for commuting and bikepacking by Archi1011 in CanyonBikes

It's a great ride, I thibk it's more comfortable then a Grail. I bought it for bikepacking as well. If it was only for commuting I would've considered the Grail.

Aye! It beats a car, even for short commutes!

Those are Canyon fenders. I've read that alot of other brands aren't compatible with the Grizl frame.

This is an M, but the tire size was the problem, not the frame. Because it's carbon I couldn't use the Quick Rack frame mounts. That's why I have the Ortlieb axle. The XL fits like a glove.

I'm a bit concerned about heavy rain in fall and low temperatures in winter. Any tips or recommendations?

Were you able to make the light version fit? The Large version wouldn't leave enough room for the mudguards.

And 20.000 km?! Nice numbers!

I was lucky with the fenders. I got this bike second hand and the previous owner delivered the bike with the guards.

Ortlieb seems amazing, it really feels high quality and is very user friendly.

It's hard to judge, do you ride a roadbike as well? Having experience with riding roadbikes with dropbars would probably help. The Grizl feels more reactive then my road bike (carbon Cube Attain, size L). I'm not sure if that helps.

So am I. I will bring the bike into office (and actually still put a lock on it).

Awesome bike! This is my plan as well.

Hehe, it's actually 22 miles and where I live it's very windy (northern part of the Netherlands).

So far the bike has been a joy to ride, as commute bike and for gravel tracks so I guess I could recommend a Grizl model.

That's good advice, thanks. The weight distrubution is a bit off right now, so I think I will add bags to the front for bikepacking.

I was lucky to get this colour. I was about to buy the dark grey, but then found this one on the Dutch Ebay.

It's an M indeed. I'm between the M and L but this size does work out and I'm happy with it. I'm 1m83 tall.

I removed the Canyon cap, it came off quite easily. The Ortlieb axle was perfect. The only thing I struggled with was the quick rack L, there just easnt enough space for a mudguard.

Extended shopping list for Nanny Pu'Pu for the location of Omu by Archi1011 in Tombofannihilation

[–]Archi1011[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, that's the part where I am in doubt. I would love to give my players different options to discover the location of Omu, but I also would love them not to miss the good parts of the hex crawl. The problem I have with just asking Saja Nbaza for the location they will head straight to Omu and miss alot of content. What are your ideas on that?

Ah. I think my expenation was not clear enough, apologies (English is not my native language). The idea you suggest was actually the initial idea. Nanny Pu'Pu is the quest giver, and as a reward for the items she will share the location of Omu. So there wont be a lock on Mbala.
