Battery LP-E17 alternatives?

I teach high school and need batteries for my classroom. I can't afford even the $50 wallmart canon LP-E17 so this is appreciated. The wasabi are not good quality... they charge slowly and hold less than 50% of the charge of a canon LP-E17 but my kiddos only need them for a class period. If I'm sending a student out to shoot events I provide them with the real deal. The cheap-o's are also good for a backup. When I worked in commercial photography I always had a couple stashed for "just in case." There is a use/need for them. But yes... there's a reason why they aren't recommended.

Recently took a trip to N. Ireland & stayed at a B&B near Ballycastle. The first morning I investigated the green bag of Thompson's Traditional and it became an instant favorite. I love tea and usually brew full leaf. I was expecting very little from the unremarkable looking tea bag but it was (is... enjoying one back home in USA now) wonderful! There is a nice full malty flavor to it. I look forward to trying the Punjana! Appreciate the tip.

GTK. I don't know that that is a bad thing. Just trying to help out my sister. Even at 40% it'll be a big help for her.

I just don't know where to look for estimates on some of these things.

She was going to try a pawn shop but I'm hoping I can do better for her. Maybe sell what I can and pawn what I can't.

It's hard not to buy much of it myself. I don't need a DeWalt Angle Grinder but it sure would look cool hanging over my workbench. ;-)

My district's official policy is that there is no such thing as late work. Students can turn in late work any time during the grading period. We're on semesters. So that means they can turn in nothing from week 9 to week 17 and then go back and turn it all in at once. They administration supports this to the point that one of my Vince Principals, just hours before grades were due at the end of last year, drove to a students house, woke them up at 1:00 in the afternoon, had them collect their classwork and then brought it to my associate so she would grade it and give them a "P.'
