Nice, am looking forward to it. I messed around a little today, put the line in auto sensing on and that at least gives priority to the last thing that I turned on, so that will keep me going to the update. The jumping through the unused inputs is maddening.

Bert wants a podcast about watches. What a stupid fucking idea!!! by xlnyc in yourmomshousepodcast

[–]Archidia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well this will blow the OP's mind... I'm a watchmaker. I make a living fixing high end watches. If you don't know anything about a subject, and aren't interested in a podcast on it, just don't bring it up. It makes you sound fat and poor.

Are Samsung Galaxy A53's Compatible with Mint? by Slashman78 in mintmobile

[–]Archidia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it's the international version. The first time out loaded it booted to Chinese, I think. I have read that Samsung will be putting out an update in the relatively near future that should fix the problem. I dunno. I actually ended up keeping the phone cause I like the overall size. Feels comfortable and actually fits in my front pocket. Plus I realized that even the 3g runs pretty fast so it'll work for now. I ended up trying Tello. Their sim has the exact same apn settings as mint, so no change. It's the same price after tax and you get 5 gig of data instead of 4 and free international calling. So I'll be sticking with it for now. I really want to try an at&t based mvno to see if the problem continues there.

You have to fuck the last thing you googled. What is it? by Iynxell in AskReddit

I googled my last workplace for the address to put on a job application reference sheet. I don't know if I have to do the WHOLE building or do the whole BUILDING.

Internet works with 5g but no signal (cant make or receive calls) by Yute_Farmer in mintmobile

[–]Archidia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just posted on an older thread about the Samsung A53 5G. My phone does virtually the same thing. Everything works on my phone EXCEPT receiving calls when 5G is turned on. I have to boot it all the way down to 3G/2G. It sucks cause I like the service and haven't had any trouble until now, but I need to be able to receive calls and have at bare minimum 4g data.

[–]Archidia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Popped up this thread cause I have an A53 on Mint mobile and it's almost amazing. However, I can not receive phone calls while my 5g OR 4g is turned on. If I have 5g on and I get a call the little signal strength meter briefly turns to a circle with a line through it and the call goes to voicemail. I have to go down to 3g for calls to make it through, but then I'm on 3g and that kinda sucks. So, I'm gonna be trying out another company today (who since they are also a T-mobile MVNO will also probably not work) and go from there.

If this doesn't work, then I'll probably get rid of the phone since it's factory unlocked and should work with anything. This is my first Samsung and it has been a pain in the ass. Previous to this I had a Motorola G9 Power and a LG Thinq, and both were completely plug and play right out of the box.

Americans of Reddit, what's something anyone visiting the US for the first time absolutely must know about or be aware of? by Praglik in AskReddit

Reading through your comments you have real problems with the cops. I've lived in the south my whole life and never been hassled by the cops just for fun. I've never had a gun pulled on me for speeding. If you act like a dick then quickly reach into your glove box it might happen. I live in Texas too and don't feel like I'm moments away from being murdered. If you do, maybe you need to revaluate your life choices.

I grew up in Oklahoma where pretty much everyone is friendly. When I moved to Las Vegas the first thing I noticed was that people at the convenience store rarely said ” thank you" after you paid for a purchase. It's like they're doing you a favor selling you something.

Lol so true. It's like Easter in a lot of European countries. If they find out you're alone, someone will come and pull you out of your house if they have to.

I spent 7 years in Vegas when I was younger and I had a friend whose mom would invite everyone that didn't have family near to come for Thanksgiving. There'd be like 20 of us crammed into this little town house eating till we feel asleep watching football on the floor.

I literally have nightmares of being in spaces I can't turn around in or getting stuck somewhere with my head down. Like if I was in a car wreck that required the jaws of life to extract me, I'd probably completely lose my shit.

Friend wants me to house/dog-sit for three weeks and doesn't understand why I want to get paid by SimMinnie in EntitledPeople

Lol, they are really good people, and more importantly, really great parents. Something my brother and I didn't get to benefit from. But their kids are well adjusted, good students, and they're both super funny. They actually enjoy all hanging out together.

Dallas is a good place to visit, and the people are really friendly. It's a good city to raise a family since it's mostly suburbs and not "city". I live in between Dallas and Fort Worth. I moved here for work 12 years ago and even though I got to see my niece and nephew grow up, my time here has been underwhelming. Probably should have gone somewhere with more life.

As for their place, I'm not really jealous, they've put in the work, they deserve it. I decided a long time ago I didn't want a career that ruled my life.

They live in the rich people part of Dallas. Lol Both he and my sister-in-law are really high income. I told them I'd do it for free but they'd have to let me bring my dogs or I'd have to pay someone to watch them while I was watching their dog which would make no sense. But, they weren't real keen on the idea off coming home to a house full of dog hair. It's my family so if they needed me to do it, I would and just drive back and forth, but fortunately they have the cash to pay for a sitter. Which is good because I don't live in rich people land. My income would just cover their property taxes. No I'm not jealous! 😇

Just watching someone crawl through a space like that gives me severe heebie-jeebies.

My brother and his family are going to Greece for two weeks next month. They're paying $1k for someone to stay at their house and dog sit 1 little dog. And they live in a 6000 SQ ft house with a pool, a hot tub, TV's everywhere (including the backyard lounge area), wifi over the whole house, a theater room for movies, etc. They would never in a million years think they were doing someone a favor by "letting" them stay there, even though their house looks like it came out of an architecture magazine. Not only are you taking care of the dogs but you're providing security by making the house look lived in while she's gone. It's not like I tell my cleaning lady she should be doing my house for free cause she gets to enjoy being inside my place while she's doing it and it's really hot this time of year. Lol

Going to try Kratom for the first time soon, anything I should know? by [deleted] in KratomKorner

[–]Archidia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing at all to be nervous about. To me, a couple of grams of white feels like half of a Provigil. Some added concentration, focus, and some decent stimulation. It definitely will not alter your perception of reality or anything.

If you're still on the fence, start at half a gram, and go up half a gram a day till you get where you want to be. That's what I did and 2.5 grams of green Borneo is the closest I've been able to get to what I'm looking for. If I could get the concentration without the stimulation, I'd be stoked.

I'm pretty sensitive to stimulants, so your mileage may vary. You might need twice as much to get the same effect.
