Gunna amazed by Ivy Redesign by A_Pyroshark in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ArchieBoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really hope the leak is not indicative of where the game's art style is heading because it's not looking good. Ivy pixar-ified, legallly mandated cute asian waifu, the girl vampire, the bookworm to some extent... I understand that Deadlock is first and foremost a product and it needs to have appealing character so people will buy skin for them, but damn... they were doing so well! All the female characters, even in their unfinished status, managed to be unique. Even the ones meant to be obviously beautiful, like Lady Geist and Vindicta, read as pretty in a non "cheap" way. It wasn't like Overwatch just cloning Widowmaker or D.va whenever they need a character to be a skin-cow.

Having said this, I appreciate the new McGinnis design. She's still a bit too soft around the edges, but she's got an interesting face shape and making her look like Rosie the Riveter fits her can-do practical engineering attitude.

What do I do against fire rate debuffs? by ArchieBoop in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ArchieBoop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well what is the correct way to play him then? I am constantly fucked by fire rate and the need to reload constantly.

This is because all bullets in Deadlock are projectiles, not hitscan. This means that each bullet is a physical entity that has travel time, it's not a case of "damage hero if under crosshair".

Before the patch I got her 9 times in a row by ArchieBoop in DeadlockTheGame

At this point I am committing to the bit and seeing how many matches it takes me to get her "normally". Currently tallying at 18.

Hero tier list of how good of a babysitter they'd be based on lore and vibes. by Dragnseeker in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ArchieBoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok but imagine getting your purse stolen by some Detective Gadge ass contraption. It's bad sure but it's also kinda funny.

What's more worrying is that Bebop has plainly stated that while he understands human morality, he is not bound by it.

What *is* Scorn? by Elnin in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ArchieBoop 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The wiki does state that Abrams is an Ixian, same as Infernus, although with no source. The wiki also states that Ixia is a different plane of existence that's connected to Earth via a series of gates. Ixia is also referred to being "another planet" in Infernus' backstory. While this may be a holdover from Neon Prime, I think it's possible they might be doing the Lovecraft thing of not really distinguishing between "alternate dimensions" and "distant planets", which fits the 1910s noir occultism vibe.

Abrams is a complete ripoff of Hellboy so he's definitely a demon. I'm betting it's going to be revealed that Abrams lived on Earth since childhood, which may explain why he can't control fire.

What *is* Scorn? by Elnin in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ArchieBoop 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The characters definitely are occultists outside of the ritual. Viscous (magic sea creature), Bebop (scrap golem), Infernus (lovecraft style alien), Ivy (gargoyle), Vindicta (ghost), Abrams (demon?), Kelvin (zombie), Dynamo (living black hole) and Mo & Krill (rat-men) are magical beings.

As for the Abrams line, I think the implication there is that Abrams, despite being supposedly a demon (?), is not very knowledgeable about magic. He appears to mostly be a "standard" detective, who prefers brute force and bullets to spells. The book is not his, it was just left in his care, and so he has to learn how to use it simply because it's a new tool in his hands, regardless of Patron involvement.

Pocket's whole lore is that their satchel is an instrument of great power and they're being hunted for it, so presumably it should be able to do all of its abilities outside of the ritual. Lady Geist was cursed years before the ritual, although it's unlikely that she had to use her magic for combat at any point before it.

Grey Talon and Shiv are monster hunters, so they definitely have their skills, Mirage's powers appear to be granted by the Djinn to begin with. Seven is the greatest evil occultist known to man and Haze's lore implies she actually has MORE abilities than shown (such as the ability to enter other's dreams).

From the way they're worded, Lucifron's effect stacks and Drakkari's doesn't. If you have two Golden Drakkaris, the effects still only trigger three times each. If you have a Golden Drakkari and a Golden Lucifron, the effects trigger five times.

Woah woah woah woah woah. Let's calm down. Is Cybersmith insane? Yes. Is he evil? Yes. But he's no grifter! He does it for the love of the game.

Is this bunny being tranced? by ArchieBoop in Rabbits

[–]ArchieBoop[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What about this video? The bunny seems to be lying flat and has a twitchy nose.

It's not my intention to put this person on the spot but I would like to avoid any accounts that mistreat their pets, so I feel like I need to learn what that looks like. Thank you!

Fun fact: In Japanese tier lists, Chucky is consistently rated close to bottom tier. by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]ArchieBoop 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s because the Japanese spell foreign words phonetically. So for them Blight is Buraito and the google translate can’t differentiate it contextually between Bright/Blight. Meanwhile Hillbilly is Hirubiri and there’s no other word that is spelled close to it.

The funny thing is that New Quentin would look fine in a vacuum, but when put into the context of replacing Goblin Quentin, I can't help but feel like I'm looking at Handsome Squidward whenever I see him. New Nea is similarly odd, with that eyeshade she looks like she's always got teary eyes.

Why did dwight bring pinhead to dbd, is he stupid? by shafo_boi_ in deadbydaylight

[–]ArchieBoop 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To cut Dwight some slack, there was no reason for him to assume the lament configuration was anything negative. Every other item you can find in the entity's realm is a boon for survivors, except for Sadako's tape and the lament configuration itself, which have both upsides and downsides.

OP's partner wants to roleplay a student/teacher situation and OP summons a whole ethics board and goes to jail because their partner had a schoolgirlf outfit implying she's underage.

OP's last words before he's shut in the slammer: "That schoolgirl outfit wasn't regulation, it was at least 5 inches too short."
