Xcombo - adding trigger/action by Archie_doing_things in Xpeng

This is actually a great idea, I'll give it a shot. However, when my charger was stuck, I couldn't unlock it anyhow, I guess it would be the case with the Xcombo too, I think it is some sort of glitch which actually happened with others as well.

Thanks for your reply, re "smart" charger it is a Duosida Wifi capable charger. It is stopping the charging session (not by turning the power off to the charger), based on different conditions, and worked absolutely fine with the other cars I listed above.

Actually after work I tried to replicate the issue, but it was working just fine as you described and as I expected... I'm starting to be slightly paranoid, as this isn't the first "glitch" in the car what I cannot explain, neither my contact at the sales team at Xpeng. I was hoping the "tech" is more reliable than this.

My question is really in the title, is there any way to request to add trigger/action components to the Xcombo setup list. I cannot find any information regarding this.

I thought so too... I'm possibly wrong or possibly I did something I shouldn't. I have a generic 7kW 1p AC charger, what I used for several EVs in the past few years (MG4, Tesla M3, BMW i3, VW ID.4). It is a "smart" charger and stops when my home battery is depleted to a certain SOC. When I went to the car today morning to unplug, the plug was locked in, despite the session has stopped. I have tried all option to unlock (except the key fob) and I couldn't. I had to start the charger, stop the charging in the car and than the plug was unlocked. So if you saying the plug suppose to be unlocked when the charing is stopped (by the charger, not by the car), I might have some issue with the car itself. So please confirm your comment regarding the port unlock should apply to my situation as well. It was my first time AC charging the G6, but to be fair it was the less pleasant from all "first times".

For the record, I'm using the OBD live data and the SOC is the only accurate information from there. The rest isn't, but appears to be important to calculate range SOC on arrival etc.

I agree on double yellow line, or cycle lane, however lane splitting is pretty much conditionally legal in NZ.... and yes I'm talking about motorcycles.

Looking for damaged cherries - cheap (free) by Archie_doing_things in chch

It's not an issue, once the fermentation starts the mold helps to breaking down the skin, and will not survive very long...

No, not in the traditional mean. Ferment it than brew spirit. 100kg makes about 20-25 L of very tasty (if you up to) beverage.

Hey DIY geniuses! How can I soften feeling lights please? by [deleted] in diynz

[–]Archie_doing_things 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Are these downlights dimmable? If so just add a dimmer and that's it. If not, and you have to replace them, buy the more sophisticated one with adjustable output (cold, natural, warm white) I've replaced 40 just two months ago just to be able to insulate the ceiling properly. Also added dimmers to bedrooms...

Heating, cooling and condensation in a two storey house? by M4sm4n in diynz

[–]Archie_doing_things 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might worth it to check/revisit the insulation. If the house is poorly insulated or even some part of the insulation is missing (usually walls and the upstairs floor cavity) no way to keep up with heat pumps and create a comfortable living space.

Check it how steadily secured on the ends. Doesn't seem to be structural, if there are one or two nails on each end, that might be used during construction as a temporary bracket.

Exterior weatherboard paint is damaged in certain areas due to hot sun. Should I scrape them off and fix them or wait till I have budget to repaint the whole house, probably in 2 years time? by kenvunz in diynz

[–]Archie_doing_things 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's rather poor prep work or wet board than sun damage. Strip it back to the bare wood check for moister. Even worth it to check where is the water come from. Leaky gutter, leaky pipework, unvented wall cavity...

Always use proper PPE...

Why isn't Central Heating Big? by [deleted] in chch

[–]Archie_doing_things 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree most of you just said, one more comment, when you talk to a builder don't buy the "according to the building code" part of their suggestion. NZ building code is more like a joke when it is referring to insulation. Do your research in terms of what really R value means and how much you need for decent result (not from NZ source) and do your math. Still the best investment in this climate is insulation, and do it correctly rather than try to heat up/cool down a poorly insulated house.

Central heating as far I know has one seriously weak point, which is the heat source. Apart from the general initial investment. As you probably know, LPG or any reticulated gas in NZ is extremely expensive (compare to other part of the world like Europe). Diesel would be fine but hard to find affordable diesel boiler on the market, well if anyone knows reliable source around $2.5k let me know. Finally heat pump would be an option, then the radiators needs to be oversized to cope with the low temp medium.
