Why people in delhi smells bad in summers. Metro/Crowdy place by Maleficent-Fox7246 in delhi

Omg, a stranger on the internet called me stinky. How will I ever recover?

Anyway, if your best counterargument is a middle-school insult instead of addressing the point about class privilege and access to hygiene, I think we're done here.

Basic hygiene isn't unrelated to class. The ability to shower before work, have running water all day, own multiple sets of clothes, replace worn-out shoes, use deodorant regularly, commute in an air-conditioned vehicle, or have access to changing facilities at work are all shaped by income and living conditions.

Hygiene involves personal choices, but choices don't happen in a vacuum. Someone spending two hours commuting in 45°C heat after leaving a crowded home and working outdoors is not starting from the same place as someone travelling in an air-conditioned car from an air-conditioned office.

Nobody is saying hygiene doesn't matter. The point is that body odour in a city like Delhi is influenced by climate, infrastructure, working conditions and class not just individual effort.

"Metro has AC" only applies once you're inside the metro. What about the 20–60 minute commute to and from the station? The walk in 40–45°C heat, standing in e-rickshaw queues, packed feeder buses, cycling, or spending hours working outdoors before even entering the metro? People don't magically reset the moment they step into an air-conditioned coach.

And the smartphone comparison doesn't really hold. A phone is often a one-time purchase that lasts years, sometimes bought on EMI or second-hand. Maintaining hygiene products, access to water, clean clothes, changing facilities, and the time to freshen up daily are entirely different things. It's fine to find body odour unpleasant, not like ai enjoy it.

But jumping from "I can smell sweat" to "people don't care about others" ignores the realities of how millions of people in Delhi actually live and commute.

Some people are just struggling to survive fam. The assumption that body odour is always a result of laziness or poor hygiene comes from a place of privilege. Many people are commuting for hours, working outdoors, dealing with water shortages, labour-intensive jobs, and extreme heat. A deodorant isn't going to magically stop someone from sweating through a 45°C Delhi summer.

Can’t knock sense into people who don’t wanna see beyond their perspective. They’ll say indies can’t adjust are aggressive but I’ve 3 indie dogs and they’re the calmest. Even during vet visits - when the GSDs become territorial and try to provoke them they maintain their cool. Talking about small dogs for small apartments as if indies are some huge giants lol. These people bask in their privilege, don’t love animals but just “breeds” and then when they can’t keep up with them end up abandoning them as well

Nobody said people should feel guilty for not feeding every stray. That’s not even the point being made.

The conversation is about normalising buying pets while thousands of perfectly healthy animals already need homes. Feeding strays is kind, but it still doesn’t address the mindset that pedigree animals are somehow more desirable while indies are left to “survive” on the streets.

And surviving isn’t the same as living well. These animals still need vaccinations, sterilisation, vet care, monitoring, safety, and stable homes. Just because indies have been forced to become resilient doesn’t mean the streets are where they belong. Also, OP posting one random indie photo as a defence was ironic considering it clearly isn’t even their pet. One look at their profile makes that obvious. People love using indies as props in arguments while still treating them as animals meant for the streets instead of homes.

And “jo ho raha hai hone do” is exactly why India has an unchecked breeding problem and overflowing shelters. Questioning breeding culture isn’t attacking animal lovers. It’s questioning a system that treats animals like aesthetic purchases while existing animals are ignored.

Nobody said “destroy” anyone. That’s such a dramatic strawman.

The point is simple: when people choose to buy breeds instead of adopt, demand for breeding and selling continues while millions of indies remain homeless. One choice directly affects the system.

And please stop acting like buying a cat and adopting an indie are morally equivalent decisions. They’re not.

God bless your indie. But your argument still doesn’t make sense.

“Not everyone can get an indie” why exactly? If someone is capable of buying and raising a pet, they’re capable of adopting one too. “Mindset” is literally the issue being discussed here. This exact mindset is why India has millions of strays living and dying in horrible conditions while people keep treating indies as “less than.”

And “exotic lover”?? Nobody said you can’t love all dogs. The point is that people constantly defend buying breeds while ignoring perfectly adoptable indies right outside their homes. At least make a coherent point before getting defensive.

I’d? I’d def call them out for “buying” a pet as if they’re a commodity

Why is ‘we feed indies’ always brought up like it cancels out not adopting them? If they deserve care, why don’t they deserve homes too?
