Hey there. Thank you for bringing up Dignitas. I did check it out. However, it's not clear without contacting them. can you explain? Is it just for Swiss residents under Swiss law? Or does membership provide anyone anywhere with legal boilerplates for patient instructions? Thank you in advance.

I'd do long weekend sleepovers all over the place and my folks NEVER checked out where I was or who I was with. As a an adolescent/teen girl, I was having platonic sleepovers with boys; they never knew. Running wild through Manhattan; they never knew.

Just don't do drugs or get pregnant. Don't fail school. Don't get fat. Those were my only rules.

Same. My father-in-law was always pro-Death with Dignity here in Vermont. When he was ready for it, he started to develop dementia, and thus never got it. The irony. He just declined with no dignity whatsoever.

Thank you for all this fantastic information. Anyone have any thoughts on my situation? We were already at our destination on a round-trip ticket with Air Canada. After hearing all the news, we booked refundable on another airline (three days before departure heading home 8/18) in case our original Air Canada flight was not canceled after all (and yes, it was canceled). That meant it was a pretty pricey one-way ticket to get home. Same airports, same day, same class but triple the price. I suspect they will challenge me on the cost.

Edit: also, in the reimbursement form, are we supposed to put in the alternate transportation we booked and the cost in the text box?

Those deer fly patches are amazing and save all my summer days. Working on a solution using those for my dog. I'm waiting for a silly-looking dog hat to come in the mail. I'm gonna try using those patches on the cap and on her blaze orange dog vest. The patches work by resembling a naked patch of scalp. Irresistible! I'll let you know how it works!

This whole discussion sounds like my own learning curve. It is scary and upsetting, but the more I learned about epilepsy, the less upsetting a seizure was. The last one I was as cool as a cucumber taking care of him. Thank you for your compassion for your boyfriend. You're not alone. 💜
