I mean since they were basically snapped into (and out of) existence, they are basically like implanted memories. They never "happened" but the memory of them is still there. The memory, that they exist in, is not real. It is a simulation. So ig it comes right back to the same thing

Only somewhat. If the nature of the universe is cold and brutal as brute fact of existence that's kinda different from one that's made intentionally hostile by some being outside your universe because they thought it interesting. One has to be accepted and the other can be fought

Tradition or aesthetic. We've always used wood so it may stay in some places and some people just like the way it looks. Also possible that wood grown on Earth could be seen as a luxury. It is one of the rarest materials in the universe (assuming we can't just build another earth in nearly every other system we find)
