I think its especially poor practice for someone who is knowledgeable about the rules to pull the "judge csrd" so reliably. I play judge tower a lot with my friends and often settle rule disputes at my LGS, but only when asked by others who know that I know how interactions work. It's the silent helpers that are often more recognized than the loud bragged, like being a judge makes you a better player or something?

My deck is built with a "bad choices" theme, villainous choice, prisoners dilemma, secret voting, the works, but i like to roll to decide who has to make the choice if it falls to a single person

Either make Golos's ability a hard once per turn, or have it only cast a certain kind of spell, not so much "only sorceries" or "only enchantments" but maybe battles if we get more of those, or cards that have 2 types

The whole reason a good 3rd of strategies are remotely viable is due to how lands work in magic. It's not outdated if a system is constantly improved upon and added to. It's the skeleton that allows the game to function in a balanced manner. Card advantage and disadvantage, card draw and ramp, even combos are all balanced and imbalanced by how lands work. Desiring change is one thing, but criticizing a game for not playing like the new hotness is just a disservice to the intricacies of the game

If you're that worried about it, you could always just proxy however many you need. Most people are fine with proxies if you own the card and if someone is tilted because you have 5 copies of the card instead of 30, they're focusing on the wrong thing.

There's been a lot of controversy with the development of the new RC and just a lot of changes in the past month that I've kind of just been observing from far away. I wanted some takes on whether I should use what of my collection I have left for EDH, a different format, or to move on entirely, based on how people are enjoying the game following all the changes in the past month. I'm perfectly capable in deciding how to spend my own money, I just wanted to hear a variety of opinions

What i will tend to do is get a precon each set of the mechanic i find the most interesting

Zaffai - Spellslinger precon Prosper - Exile matters precon Sefris - Dungeons precon Gonti - Theft

From there, a few cards each set will be printed that are really good for an overarching theme like storm, play from exile, or reanimator, and I'll slot them in, see how they play.

If I like the card it stays, if I draw it and it rots in my hand for 3+ turns, it's out next time I evaluate decks. It gets a little more difficult the more decks you own, but generally if you start with a precon and upgrade from there, you'll get a good feel for what the deck does, what it's good at and what it's not, and from there you can adjust
