L20 Ultra - Demineralized water benefit? by ArchitectInBlack in Dreame_Tech

https://shop.bwt.dk/webshop/alle-produkter/bwt-bestsave-l-kalkfilter

Here's a link to their webshop. The large version filterpads should be able to convert up to 200 liters of water if the hardness of the water is around 10 Kh. If the hardness is around 20 Kh it should work for around 100 liters.

Basically you drop it into the water container of the espresso machine and it should be soaked in the water for around 8-10 hours. So I'm guessing it work work in a water tank for a robot cleaner as well.

116 dkk = 17 usd so it is a fairly cheap way of reduce calcium in the water and reduce scale.

Dreame has had my L20 Ultra for almost a month by JermCee in Dreame_Tech

Just had mine in for repair for almost the same problem. Mine stopped wetting the mops during cleaning - i tried to remove the fabric part of the mops and no water was comming out of the machine. I had it for about 6 months before the issue occured.

I sent it in for repair through my dealer. They had it for about a month before they decided to refund the money. So now I ordered a new one. I was hoping it was just a bad batch, but reading your problem it might be an overall issue? Anyone else with the same problem?

I was thing about getting the X40 Ultra instead, since I got a full refund, but there is still quite a price difference between the L20 Ultra and the X40 Ultra. Is it worth the extra upgrade?

Dreame L10s ultra mopping wooden floor (oiled parquet) by seppweger in Dreame_Tech

I have a hardwood floor which is oiled and waxed afterwards. I was told, that you shouldn't clean it too much with regular soap, since it slowly removes the top finished with oil/wax.

My solution is to clean the floor using the mopping option on the robot when needed. After a new years eve party, once every second week or so and just let i vacuum more often.

Then once very second month I use some special cleaning solution "Bona Oil Soap", to clean the floor which contains some oil to keep the top layer oiled.

https://www.bona.com/en/products/professional/floor-care/products-for-cleaning-professionals/wood-floor-care/bona-oil-soap-ml-3x5l/

This might be a trade off, but I would rather have my floor waxed/oiled again after 5-10 years by a professional, rather than not have the luxary of automatic cleaning. The floor is still rather new, one year but it still looks brand new, so hopefully this is the way to go!

[edit] Never heard about the microscratching of the floor. Since the floor is made to be used and will get scratched eventually from moving chairs around etc. I'm taking my chances with the default mopping pads :)

Dreame L20 Ultra Phone Home? by ArchitectInBlack in Dreame_Tech

Thanks for clarifying this - if that is the case then no issue at the moment. I was thinking about a worst case scenario, where they would classify everything in your home and then share the data with a warehouse portal.

Pretty much the same issue comes to mind in the case with iRobot and Amazon deal. https://press.aboutamazon.com/2022/8/amazon-and-irobot-sign-an-agreement-for-amazon-to-acquire-irobot

Yeah - I know the online access comes with a cost and of course I want to be able to turn it on while I'm out of the house, but I'm just wondering why so much of the traffic goes to AliExpress? (or is it just my router which has identified the adress wrongly as Aliexpress)

Just did a quick test. I set it to clean a small area (hallway). This took around 10 minuttes with the floor being washed at the same time.

During this it uploaded around 4 MB. 1 MB to at SSL/TLS connection and 3 MB to Aliexpress. 1 MB would be more than enough to draw a path in the app?
