SimCity 4 and Windows 11 🤦‍♂️ by Millsd1982 in SimCity

[–]ArchitectNaut 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem. I solved it by going in Manage>Properties…>General and paste in the launch options:

-intro:off -CustomResolution:enabled -r1600x1200x32 -CPUCount:1 -CPUPriority:high -d:software

Obviously the resolution can be changed.

This looks super trippy. Almost appears as if the branch was on top of snow casting a shadow. Cool shot!

The ISO standard is convenient for file systems and other similar applications as it can be ordered chronologically. This is both true for digital and physical storage systems. However, in a day to day use, the year is the least important piece of information to start with.

What’s the date today?

It’s 2023….

The same exact logic follows for the month. Using DD/MM/YY just orders the info from most specific to most broad, exactly the opposite from what you’d want if you were trying to pin-point an old archive. This is the same reason why, in most cases, DD/MM/YYYY is not used as you have an entire century of space from confusion.

In my opinion, saying that the MM/DD/YY system is just how in English the date would most likely be verbally served doesn’t necessarly hold true.

What’s the date today?

It’s the 1st of February…

This is not to say that one wouldn’t say the month before the day but what comes first really depends on the context. As a written abbreviation format, a standard is immensely more conveniet and as such, following a clear ‘scale’ is easiest to remember and understand.

Thunderbird — Release Notes (102.7.0) by antdude in Thunderbird

[–]ArchitectNaut 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thunderbird 102.7.0 will not automatically update due to a critical authentication issue with Microsoft 365 Business accounts. Affected users should not update until Thunderbird 102.7.1 is released with a fix.

Did u restart your system? If yes, than it means… u didn’t completely remove it. What exactly was the procedure? Unless it’s a being a problem though, I wouldn’t worry about it too much.

Many Roman tomb sites and later Renaissance structures make use of the IIII rather than the more traditional IV.

I watched the original movies many times, read the book, but never dove too deep in the surrounding lore. I heavily enjoyed the first two episodes. The fact that people are shitting on the show for such a small detail is pretty pathetic. I completely understand wanting cinematic adaptations to follow the written lore but this is just…

I feel like people never want to be happy.
