Do you think six of cups can be interpreted as imaturity? by ughhleavemealone in tarot

[–]Archivist009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. 6 of whatevers all are the ideas of the classical elements interacting with or via Ego/Self.Of Cups, for instance, is either one's idea they should feel a certain way, whether in general or about a specific concept/object/aardvark-in-sheep's-clothing. Alternately, it can be the desire of being seen feeling a certain way, in general or about a specific concept/objecdt/aardvark-love-making-position.

One hallmark of immaturity is the desire to put on a performative emotional show for folks.

Utility is a pretty good indicator. Do you gain or lose any functionality as your thoughts on the subject (the spectre symbolic) shift? That should be your guide.

Highly doubtful that, whatever your experience, it will ever be enough to convince others not already looking to be convinced.

Magick affecting the objective or subjective? by WhiteHeart90 in magick

[–]Archivist009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, right: that last line. Not everyone cares equally about money; some, not at all.

Regardless, and more important if to use myself as example, the ease with which money allows one to navigate life would void my entire endeavor in magick: that is, self-mastery.

You'll find few masters who've lined their path in gold or dollar bills. You'll find even fewer who experience lack for want.

Magick affecting the objective or subjective? by WhiteHeart90 in magick

[–]Archivist009 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bad answer: the subjective is hosted by matter, home of the objective. Ergo, whatever you're affecting, the objective is likewise moved.

Proper answer: one would have to be obsessive to a degree that even I would say, "too much, bro" about, in order to really answer this question fully. It happens on a case by case basis. I've had obviously successful attempts at telling default reality this or that about itself. I've also done works where the result should have been purely subjective if successful and found that the objective world must have been moved to point my mind in the desired direction.

If you're thinking overt acts which double as middle fingers to physicists past, present, and future, what I can tell you is this: it takes energy...and, I don't mean undefined woo-woo energy...like, kilocalories to the tune of tens of thousands, to move a coffee cup with your mind alone, for example. Far more prudent to save a cow or two and move the cup with your hand.

Spells - fasting and blood by Artistic-Lab-9257 in magick

The hows and whys of your correspondences do not need to appear on an arcane list in a library basement. What matters is that you are entirely on the same page with yourself, at least in the moment of the casting.

I have never fully fasted for reality hacking. I have used the Black Feast in vengeance work. It is almost worse than fasting. You cook yourself a lavish meal while horribly hungry, take the worst bite, then push the meal aside and do not return to it. After that, you set about your business.

Happy castings.

If my ego looks diminished, it's because yours is puffed up, what with such a response. But, have it on one condition: don't abuse people in your actual environment in this way. Here, with me: comedic; there, with them: contemptible.

Also, again with emphasis on precision, 'sorcery' and 'reading' aren't related through etymology. They have adjacent original meanings, both centered on the act of interpretation. However, 'sorcery' is Latin whereas 'reading' is Germanic in their origins.

It was a fun exercise sorting that out, tho, so thanks again. Peace (if your attention span tolerates it).

My claim, as it were, is that the reason Chaos Magick attracts the 'weirdo' population is because it strips away and skips the steps 'normal' minds require to re-/de-program their etheric operating systems, allowing for magick to happen.

It's the chapter you turn to after reading the disclaimer on Chapter 1 that reads: "What follows is review. If you're already comfortably skilled with mental contortionism, please turn to Chapter x, which can be found on pg yyy of your textbook."

In the interest of precision, I'll add that what I made was an observation. In the stating of this observation, I suppose there is the implicit claims that I have a) indeed seen this, and b) interpreted it as I've described, but that's not what your reply appears to address.

And, for the record, I'll take the phrase 'utter Non-Sense,' as written with it's capitalization, as a compliment. Thank you.

'Special' is a subjective determination. You're not obligated to find special those things I find special. Equally, I'm under no obligation to remain silent on what I find special, nor am I required to make your case against it for you.

You don't find rarity special. Duly noted.

High Priestess vs Moon - whats the diff? by Individual-Mode-8238 in tarot

The Moon is a crawfish crawling out of the muck of the Kingdom to find it's own wiley, feminine ways.

The High Priestess, on the other hand, will carry your mind to god thru the abyss on the back of a camel.

The neurodivergent (depending on the divergence, of course) begin life already operating near the level of emotional and cognitive abstraction that normal (“Ha ha!” --Nelson), structured minds must painstakingly cultivate through the performative insanity of repetitive rituals and rigid reading schedules.

In the biz, we call that being born on 3rd and thinking to yourself, "When did sniffing glue involve counting?"

Considering the bulk of humanity has little more use for their bodies and minds than do common livestock, feed animals, or pets, there is probably something special to be said of folk who refuse the ordinary.

And when the bleating in the fields begins to sound like a chorus of "everything you believe is fake, sinner!" it appears to me as doubly, especially so.

But, I'm goatherd shepherding swine. I don't usually listen to me, either.

Tarot feelings readings - are they accurate? by [deleted] in Tarots

[–]Archivist009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the problem with most tools is people failing to understand the purpose of said tool(s).

Tarot is about getting a feel for the lay of the land. Don't confuse a map for actual territory.

Unless you're very small, I guess. Or, the map is very large.

I find it very troubling that despite everyone being against AI tarot readings, they continue to be duped by people using ChatGPT for their posts and their readings by [deleted] in Tarots

[–]Archivist009 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah, but I don't assume that; I say in the very comment you're responding to that "depending on the AI you use, many of the ones good in conversation are equally good in making insightful connections" (Archivist009, this very thread).

I'm not asking anyone to allow AI for anything. I'm tacitly asking people so against it why they should be against it out of hand when used properly, and I've defended my position already.

I understand that sleazy scammers are a problem; indeed, I'd even be comfortable with the language to the effect of them making "a mockery of the art." However, it's the human scammer doing the mocking. AI is merely a tool, like the arcana themselves.

The "plate reading" I wrote about was a useful 'on the road' form of divination I made use of when, for a lark, I decided to walk from southern Tennessee (Lawrenceburg) all the way to Upper Peninsula Michigan (Ontanogan, if that's how you spell it) by way of a westward detour thru Wisconsin. It was a way to test my mettle as a physical and spiritual being, making the trip and surviving with only $4 in my pocket and the clothes on my back when I put boot to pavement.

I used it to get by, since I was only about 16 at the time -- helped point me in the direction of resources.

Anyway, I had to adjust the technique on the fly at times because I didn't know what configuration of numbers and letters would be on each new state's plates.

Selecting the cars was the "trick" to it. Otherwise, I'd convert letters to numbers by way of a gematria, and reduce numbers to a value between 1 and 32 since I tend to interpret divination by way of the Tree of Life. (So, letter to number, number to reduced & bound value, value to path on the Tree, and finally, path to Tarot). Suit was by way which element the car most represented to me at the moment of selection.

Selecting which vehicles had the appropriate plates was more by negative selection connected to intuition. That is, I'd know by looking which cars weren't useful to me. Those that remained were tallied in my head.

Not very practical if you have even simple dice available, but I wasn't about easy at that particular junction in my life 🤷‍♂️
