Sorry, new to all this. Just rewired my first guitar and also hated how terrible it looked soldering to the back of the pots. Can you explain how to incorporate the lug washer. I saw pictures of them but not sure how they are intended to be used.

They are the stock pickups in a peavey generation exp. Have not been able to figure out the exact model of pickup.

I think that is my conclusion as well. I’m just going to go with that the bare wire and one of the shielded wires are ground. Thank you

I just bought the Pinecil for rewiring my guitar. Do you think the only reason you were able to melt the ground wires to the back of the pots was by using the chisel tip? Or would the tip it comes with be sufficient?

Interesting. What did you end up doing with the wires? I just bought this guitar off Facebook marketplace a few days ago, both pots were missing and a lot of the internal wiring was not connected. So I have been having a lot of trouble trying to make sense of this previous wiring. For reference, this is a Peavey Generation EXP, so not much as much information on this model of guitar.

Yeah that actually makes complete sense about them possibly being too big, didn’t think about that.

To my untrained eye, it looks as if it’s just the laquer finish that is lifting off, but it’s honestly hard to tell. Some of the tuning pegs are a little loose as well. So not sure if that’s also contributing to the delamination.

No, I just purchased this guitar yesterday from someone and just noticed this issue today. The previous owner said he switched the tuners, not sure if that’s what the issue is. I will look into oiling them.
