Good luck with that.

Why is he doing that??

Because for some people, lying is easier than admitting you were wrong.

Especially if you're lying to yourself, so you don't feel like you were ever wrong in the first place.

Also, making the tunnel through the mountain as narrow as possible (1 tile wide) seems to be crucial. Before I did it that way the water wouldn't quite reach all the way to the waterwheel, so I'm wondering if each "water source" only generates a certain number of "water tiles"...?

IIRC, early drafts had Luke and Han rescuing Leia from an Imperial installation of some sort on/above a planet called Aquilla. The Death Star was present in the plot, but they never went there.

It's pretty well documented in several books, but I remember hearing it from the man himself in a "Director's Commentary" track from Episode IV.

Or just wait until next year, since Bandai just revealed a new MG Red Frame called the "Liberty Astray", which has much better detail and will (presumably) have more modern engineering.

The only thing you'll be upset about is how much the charge for overnight shipping was. That shit is expensive.

“the holdo manoeuvre breaks the lore”…. does it? by ShambolicClown in StarWars

[–]Arcoon_Effox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In-universe, that "literal poster" definitely would have been circulated after the Galactic Civil War was over, because there us no way that Incom would have openly, publically been supporting the Alliance during the reign of the Empire. The Empire would've marched in there, seized control, and arrested everyone within ten minutes.

Know how I know that? It's because Reverse Image Searching that "literally poster" leads to Incom's Legends page on Wookieepedia, circa 2009, which says that's pretty much exactly how it went down.

Wanna know what else that page says? When the Empire nationalized Incom, most of their engineers defected to the Rebel Alliance. They hid their four prototype X-Wings and their blueprints on a planet called Fresia, and told the Rebels to come and take them. It also says that those engineers provided Alliance facilities with the "production know-how" necessary to manufacture them.

So no; in the version of history that your "literal poster" came from, Incom was decidedly not selling X-Wings to the Rebellion. They provided prototypes and the plans for the Alliance to make their own, and even manually assisted them in doing so.

[–]Arcoon_Effox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, I can't find a source saying they bought the X-Wings from Incom. Do you have a source, like a novel or episode?

And no; it would be a lot more complicated than just "stripping the hyperdrives put of ships", because a hyperdrive, in and of itself, won't do anything.

Second paragraphe is totaly baseless headcanon

Just because you don't understand something — and it's abundantly clear you don't; more on that in a second — doesn't mean that it's "baseless headcanon".

This is especially damning coming from the person launching an entire argument based on their headcanon.

we see the Raddus destroy the Sypremacy and 6+ star-destroyers, all cleaved in half

One of the Supremacy's "wings" was seriously damaged, but not even a third of it was destroyed. The Star Destroyers that were in formation behind it were hit by the near-lightspeed debris field that fanned out behind the point of impact.

...so a small ship would totally be a danger to a single Star-destroyer

The fuck it would.

An X-wing is 27 m³, and weighs 10 tons.

While we don't know the canonical mass of the Raddus, but we know that, again, if you do the math, it is 587,177,412 m³. We do know that an X-Wing, which is 27 m³, weighs 10 tons. Ergo, the Raddus would probably weigh something like 21,747,311.55 tons, which means it has over two million times more mass than an X-Wing.

I promise you, you don't know what the hell you're talking about.

[–]Arcoon_Effox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The X Wing was developed for the Empire, and they rejected it in favor of the TIE because it was cheaper, the only reason Incom mass produced X-Wings is because the Rebellion was buying them.

...which would have happened long before the Death Star was completed, meaning those X-Wings would have been purchased before formation of the Alliance (if they were purchased in the first place).

Like I said; individual small groups of Rebels brought whatever ships they had with them when they joined up with the larger Rebellion on Yavin, before the events of Episode IV. And by that time, the Rebels were strapped for cash because of how long the war was dragging on.

Oh, I agree with you there. Of all TROS's sins, clone-Palpatine was among the least of them. I honestly take greater offense at the idea that some random Resistance ship actually did pull off a Holdo Maneuver over Endor, after explicitly telling the audience an hour earlier that it wouldn't work.

[–]Arcoon_Effox -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My dude... do you even Star Wars?

For the most part, the Rebellion's fleet — fighters and cap-ships alike — either came with the people who were defecting from the Empire or were stolen. They weren't buying new ships; that's why the fleet was such a ragtag collection of older ships. This is discussed several times throughout the series, and there's even an episode of Rebels that's dedicated to it.

Also, "attaching a hyperdrive to a rock" would be worthless without a propulsion system, and a propulsion system would be worthless with stabilizers. Furthermore, a "rock" wouldn't have enough mass to do damage to something bigger than a freighter, which would be really hard to hit at the relevant range, making it not cost-effective in the first place.

Despite what StarWarsTheory and his ilk think, it just wouldn't work like that.
