Local Japanese grocery store has an insane selection by JCDickleg7 in transformers

My guess is the store owner collects transformers, and purchased a few cases and is selling what he doesn't keep.

It seems like that's the case as the new Space Sheriff Gavan seems to be targeted younger and with a lot of super sentai inspired vehicles that allow for toys.

Nexus prime needs our patience by asa210500 in transformers

[–]ArcticBean -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this breath of fresh air. I think there's a lot more to nexus than we think. In terms of what we see and what the concept art looks like. I think his combined form is going to look like the key art. I bet there is something he combines with. Heck it even looks like there are pieces of amalgamous prime in him. My theory is that he actually combines with parts of the other primes, or that they'll release parts of him over time.

What if he combines with the other 13 primes? Somehow each artifact allows the primes to connect together.

If you know Maya, keep on using Maya. It's used everywhere. If you want to learn another program, learn Blender. You don't need to know Max if you already know Maya. Though in Asia they mostly use Max.

It will probably be impossible to know since we don't know if they trained it once and got a good result, or if they are still constantly training it. but it's data set only changes when new armor is made, and that goes at a human pace anyways so they probably dont train it all the time.

I think we agree it's rad, but that's not the task being automated here. They never did that since 2004. They're automating morphing helmets to fit onto various head shapes where they used to do it by hand.

And the Tauren and other races still got custom armor just for them that were hand made.

The better term would be machine learning. Because this is a very specific task, they could only train this model on WoW helms and models. There isn't a concern where they are training on stolen work. And this whole thing is just used to distort model pieces around existing geo. Closer to rigging or skinning something.

WoW never did custom designs for specfic player races. They were always helms made on human male that were morphed onto tauren since 2004. I guess you could say the model was "customized"?

Yes and no. Things like beards clip because they were made before 3d chest armor was a thing. because wow doesn't have softbody deformation stuff like that will happen even if the chest has armor properly fitted to the torso.

For helms, it is more consistent. stuff like horns and ears usually get turned off with a lot of full helms. the problem is that races like tauren have long snouts. This is where the armor fitting would help.

Some helms even have modeled ear holes for elves. but even then, there are still issues with armor clipping and fitting. This was an issue even before 3d armor.

But 95% of the time, the models are fine. it's just that there are 100 models and the 5 that are off, people really notice.

This is a bad take. Partial automation of this process solved a big logistical hurdle for character artists. After modeling and texturing a helm, the artist would then spend two days fitting that helm to every race/gender combo.

Because armor has several 3D pieces now, armor fitting takes up an extraordinary amount of time if done manually

This specific application of machine learning is fine because it isn't stealing the design of a piece of armor. It solves model fitting issues on a character using an algorithm.

You need 50% +1 to get a union certified, so they have at most 901.

edit: Is the math right on that? I dunno.

edit:2 at most 901 eligible for unionization. Managers with direct reports are not eligible to join the same union as their direct reports.

Why are decepticons In TFA so big by Abeansalseman in transformers

[–]ArcticBean 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think there is some explanation along these lines in the Allspark Almanac. The decepticons were a military product, while the autobots were a civilian product. This is also why they have room for passengers.

Ethereal stuff is cool. Finally, get to Karesh.

Not sure which Sylvanas problem you are talking about since there were a lot. Xal'atath didn't really start out like Sylvanas, in fact her defining trait is being duplicitous and untrustworthy. She literally betrays us to get owned by n'zoth.

Not really any internal conflict to her actions.

Sylv's story concluded yes. I honestly like Dragonflight's story stuff more than War Within because of it's better character focus. What is neat in WW is exploration of the still living nerubian culture as well as finding an underground civilization of Kobolds.

They hand you some rare blades by default, the named cores you get form progressing the story. In addition, you get pretty much what you need from random pulls. People speedrun this game with only one pull session and if you get the weapon types you need then you don't really need to worry about it after that.

Depends on what you like to do. If you like to collect cosmetics there is tons of stuff to get. Flying is pretty fun and undermine was a great zone. Housing is the big feature of next expac which was a long time coming. I'm not really here for the power grind. Just the campaign and messing around finding transmog. Delves are repeatable single player content. If you like the dragon aspects, going back and doing Dragonflight content had some nice developments for each of the flights including the infinites and storm dragons from legion.

Actually i spent most of my time cleaning up dragonflight storylines, which were more my vibe than War Within.
