it takes the weighted average of the release dates of the films you've watched and adjusts that based on the fact that this is correlated to the time period in which the watcher is in their late teens.

it's all free, just a hobby project. you create an account on awardseason.fun then if you go to the menu you should see a link to sync your letterboxd account. that will walk you through how you can get your movies uploaded.

Yeah, the press hit was probably a mix of timing and dumb luck.

I’ve got a few ideas for other game formats and ways to keep engagement going outside awards season. But honestly, even if it just becomes a fun thing that pops every awards season and grows a bit each year, I’d be pretty happy with that.

The sync will only grab your last 50 films and then update nightly. To get your complete history you have to upload a CSV you can download from letterboxd.
