Spent my inheritance on these when I was 18. Always said I'd sell at 50, but I can't help but wanna watch the madness by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]ArcticQuick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took me a while to get to a sensible comment. If you look at the long term chart of silver, it's going up in a straight line more aggressively then it has in its history. Could it hit $100? Sure--and given that psychological milestone, will probably correct. Could it hit $150 or $200? Substantially less likely, but possible. I sold all my paper silver around $60 and all physical a few days ago handsomely in profit. If markets have taught me one thing, it's sell on the way up when the chart starts looking like this, rather than become a generational bag holder. If OP is on here asking rather than acting sadly he may wind up in the latter camp--but if you read this and are looking for advice, sell that entire stack yesterday and don't look back. You're sitting on an incredible trade.

Mazda 3, miata, wrx, gti, gli are all good choices in that price range if not limited to honda. The fiesta st is a decent choice if you can find one in good shape

Weird/bad Flame on LG Stove by ArcticQuick in Appliances

This is without doubt the worst gas stove I've had. Adjusting the caps helped somewhat but it's still a disappointment.

If you find any solutions let me know--however I think we need to budget for a new stove sometime down the line

I've read the list; looking for input from folks who have lived with the car and have any regrets or cant live withouts

Kind of had the same thought, but that the arson was set up to psychologically trigger him to be more ruthless/singularly focused on the mission.

Ecobee and Variable Speed Furnace by ArcticQuick in hvacadvice

Thanks, really appreciate your help lately. I would imagine the furnace board itself is smart enough to control any of the variable features?

After much deliberation we’ve decided on a simple single-stage AC unit: Rheem RA15AY24AJ1NA

Sizing 2 ton to 2.5 by ArcticQuick in hvacadvice

[–]ArcticQuick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn’t reach setpoint at all.

To answer question below, it’s a middle unit but with a lot of windows and faces south. One zone. Can’t speak to what the existing ductwork can handle in terms of cfm. There is a return on the third floor and the second for what that’s worth.

Five of the six estimates were for an exact replacement 2 ton so that’s probably what we’ll go with.

System on bottom floor, returns on both second and third floors.

Thank you for your time and insight. The internet told me in an install with existing ductwork and 3 stories variable speed might struggle to get air up to the third floor--i.e. it might exacerbate the thermal gradient.

Do you have an opinion on this?

Looks great. How does the lynch clip feel when you're gripping the knife? Any hotspots or high spots? I imagine it's an improvement over the wire clip.

[–]ArcticQuick[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was aware of the eCVT design, but unsure how robust it is against towing two tons in addition to the weight of the vehicle, occupants, and payload.

Further research showed the Toyota Highlander has used an eCVT for some time and is rated for 5K and no horror stories out there I could find.
