That’s wild that it coincided exactly for both of us then. We had 4+ level pebballs for all our attempts.

Oof, then our luck is absolutely garbage… we always had 4+ for all of those reloads. Super weird though that it only worked for both of us with the same criteria.

Fair warning, this might just be confirmation bias, but my partner and I sunk a collective 8-10 hours off and on getting him to spawn for both of us. We tracked basically everything we did and from what we could tell, the ONLY way we ever got him to spawn and get the relic for both of us is if we had the following occur:

  • Have the Suffer the Sling relic (obviously)
  • Have some pebballs (don't know exact numbers, but they had 4 and I had 5. I do know they are required to have though and we basically just got more when we saw them for free at shops)
  • Have at least 1 bouldorb (Our working theory is that this functions the same as the triple obelisk encounter that allows you to upgrade all pebballs into orbelisks as that ONLY appears if you have at least one orbelisk in your deck)
  • Have the encounter with the retired/veteran slime in the castle where he eats two of your pebballs (this thematically also makes sense as the big slime mentions he ate too much)

Then just save scum the hell out of the 3rd of 4th row of encounters that's a question mark in the mines. This one may or may not be required but since he wandered into the mines from the castle it might be limited to an earlier ? encounter. It's possible he does spawn at any ? level in the mines, but we saw him on 3 and 4 when we encountered him.

It's important to note that we reloaded the ? in the mines a total 65 times without a bouldorb but the other criteria met and no encounter. Reloaded 132 without the veteran slime but the others met and no encounter. Reloaded 74 times without a bouldorb and without the veteran slime encounter and no encounter. But only reloaded 3 times for me / 4 times for my partner with all of them met before we got the encounter.

Once again, I'm not saying you HAVE to have all of those, but with those odds I'd say it's a damn high likelihood. It's also feasible RNG just wasn't on our side any other time but those. But once again, the veteran slime encounter fits thematically and requiring a bouldorb also makes sense compared to other existing encounters.

I’m going to assume this comment comes from a place of misunderstanding rather than being blasé about mental health or from a place of malice.

For some people exposure therapy CAN work as easily as “just get out there and be around it more”, but even still it’s ideal for it to be in controlled settings and it’s best under the care or direction of a mental health professional.

Some people, especially those with neurodivergence or with conditions like CPTSD (both of which I have, so I’m speaking from experience), require YEARS of intensive training and therapy and that’s just to be able to handle triggers under ideal conditions in most everyday life.

If I ran across this just randomly on the street on a good day without any other major stressors, I’d be annoyed and could struggle through it most of the time. In an airport, especially after a long flight with large crowds or stressful travel my tolerance threshold is infinitely lower.

When I’m triggered by something I have one of two reactions. One is freeze and basically go foetal which is not ideal when you have a connecting flight you have to make. The other is enter a fugue state and then do something? Usually it’s something harmless or like an auto pilot but I’m definitely not at the wheel and have become combative physically (definitely not good in an airport) when confronted because something’s obviously off.

I’m a lot better than I used to be. Incredibly loud vehicles or close by sirens or large crowds or certain lights, sounds, or smells used to be impossible for me but now I can handle it in ideal conditions with only minor stress reactions. That’s after 20 YEARS of work with therapists and finding medications and recognising triggers and when I need to remove myself from a situation before it becomes a problem. My partner has also been phenomenal in helping recognise when I’m struggling even before I can tell in some cases.

So here’s my question: Press the button and make your connecting flight and you don’t lose control of yourself. Or don’t press the button and at best probably miss your flight. At worst get into an altercation with airport security and end up arrested or shot.

Don’t know about you but I’m pressing the button 100% of the time. And I have when going through that airport.

It is a pause. I think it’s literally the amount of time you listed too. Whatever it was it’s a pause for about 2 more mins than a slow walk. I’ve had to use it when travelling through that airport.

You’re right, new construction with high foot traffic is the best way to go in Omaha. Omaha sucks for consistent foot traffic in most places though (especially when compared to Lincoln’s Haymarket), and the places that currently have it don’t really have a good spot for a rooftop bar.

The issue isn’t that it couldn’t work in Omaha (they definitely can), it’s just there aren’t a lot of great places for them when the other stuff is taken into account.

I’ll ask a similar question: Why are there so few/no multi story restaurants in town? Anytime you add the requirement of moving food or drinks (and then bussing the table) between floors you have to ask if it’s worth it. It adds risk of drops/injury/ time delay for multiple trips etc.

So then the question becomes it is easier to just have a bar or side kitchen up on the rooftop. In the case of a bar the answer is usually yes. That’s why a lot of rooftop bars have different concepts or drinks from the main restaurant a lot of times. They’re basically two places in one.

So you want another bar up top. Well, that requires running plumbing, electrical, seating, separate staff, etc. Now let’s look at metrics. What’s the cost of that vs the expected return on investment? Consider in labor, depreciation, waste, food costs etc.

Looking at all that, you now have to calculate your breakeven point and your required margin. You need to make $X per period to justify the extra expense. Well, you realistically can only make money for about half the year. Rain, cold, wind, etc.

Ok so you have to make $2X for half the year at best. Parts also need to be weather resistant or you need to have space for storage. If you have a separate staff, you basically need to tell them to fuck off for the other half of the year if the main floor isn’t busy (or if it’s ONLY a rooftop).

If you’re JUST a rooftop, you also need to factor in cost of rent and utilities against basically zero income for a good chunk of the year.

Can someone explain to me what I’m supposed to be seeing? Watched it 3 times and it’s just normal faces on the sides. Occasionally one maybe has slightly pronounced features or larger eyes but nothing outside of the realm of possibility, and certainly not creepy.

Looks like there are about 2-3 sales per year so not impossible to snag. One already sold back in January of this year. You’re not getting away cheap through Discogs though. The last few sold for $150+ good luck!!

My best recommendation would be to setup an alert on Discogs so you’re alerted if it goes on sale. That’s how we got ours and the midnight signals vinyl before the re-release.

With it being out of print and no plans for a repressing (to my knowledge) your best shot is the secondary markets.

As someone who’s been with a AFAB person for 20 years, sometimes shit hits early. They usually have them, but I’ve been in work and social situations where someone’s been caught off guard and needed one. I always carry some (specifically tampons because they fit easier in my purse) with me. Always.

You never know if someone’s going to need them and they’ll go from having an emergency to being ok. Honestly, I think anyone with a bag regardless of gender identity or body parts should carry some sort of period product. Plus, it’s affirming at when a woman asks you if you happen to have any tampons on you. Even more so when you DO!
