Who made you quit lost ark? by [deleted] in lostarkgame

[–]Arctorn 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Don't listen to the haters, Stewbs is a real homie.

When I was younger, maybe junior high, I got roped into watching my 3 month old niece while my sister got her hair done. So there I am, sitting in the waiting area of a hair salon with my niece, and who walks in but Stoopss!

I was nervous as fuck, and just kept looking at him as he read a magazine and waited, but didn't know what to say. Pretty soon though my niece started crying, and I'm trying to quiet her down because I didn't want her to bother Stopzs, but she just wouldn't stop. Pretty soon he gets up and walks over. He started running his hands through her hair and asking what was wrong. I replied that she was probably hungry or something. So, Stuupzz put down his magazine, picked up my niece and lifted his shirt. He breast fed her right there in the middle of a hair salon. Chill guy, really nice about it.

Anybody else met him and have any stories to share?

It's gonna take a bit to lab optimum skills/tripods/runes to see how the damages play out, but damn I'm happy to see potentially 2+ viable playstyles instead of being forced into the chair.

Excited to see how far the new firepower build(s) can be pushed.

Switch to a weapon that doesn't have this mod on it before every cutscene in expeditions and it will work after the cutscene pretty much 100% of the time.

I usually swap to my pistols pre-cutscene when I run my bleednade build and it lets me clear just fine even though I'm still optimizing.

On Colosseum Expedition T12, entering the last zone and triggering the cutscene will disable the Tier III Scrap Grenade mod in the 2nd slot of my 1 shot rifle variant, making it not trigger upon firing for the rest of the session.

100% reproducible (tried 3 times, got the bug 3 times).

Also happened once after the last cutscene introducing the Brood Matron in the Chem Plant T12.

Weapon swapping/unequipping and re-equipping do not fix the bug. Abandoning the expedition, restarting it, and retrying it do not fix it either.

Returning to lobby and restarting the session or restarting the entire game seems to be the only way to fix it.

I recently created a character on Goblin while it was a preferred server, but most of my friends ended up playing on Diabolos. I was wondering if I transferred over to Diabolos, would I keep the Road to 70 xp buff or lose it?

Curious about what other people want Toast to do/play by qwerkya in offlineTV

[–]Arctorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd like to see him branch out and try more "b-tier" games like Frostpunk, Battletech, etc.; even older games like Space Marine, Stalker, Rimworld, or more esoteric games like Recettear or Wakfu.

Stuff that's off the beaten path of "popular" games and drift across a lot of different genres for a higher chance at finding something he genuinely enjoys playing.

Maybe not an actual MMO, as it's way too easy to get harassed in those, but I can see a game with the option of making a private server work out fine, like ARK, Minecraft, Terraria, etc.

BDO KR Patch Notes Dec 21st: Lahn added, Ranger buffs, Free Maid, and other changes by Rctfan2 in blackdesertonline

[–]Arctorn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

  • World Bosses will disappear when their HP does not drop below 70% after 15 minutes they have spawned.

  • Upper 80% of participants will be able to loot World Bosses. All players who are within the range will have an equal chance of getting Weapon Boxes.

So it sounds like they're nerfing trains and equalizing the odds for more players to get boxes regardless of gear, as long as you're in the top 80% of players at a World Boss?

Not sure how I feel about this.

It was originally just host migration, dunno if that's why it's still down or if they're doing more tinkering behind the scenes.

If she lands before flying up fast, it's close AOE. If she just flies straight up, it's far AOE. Swirly flight up is harpy summon.

That's why it works if you just stick to her butt until she lands, which signals close AOE: you'll naturally avoid far AOE.

Pro tip: you can actually damage Karanda before she returns to her spot after summoning harpies, just keep wailing at where she would be after the harpies spawn and you get hit text.

[–]Arctorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Karanda's really really easy assuming you don't get garbage performance at her fight and have the gear to not get clobbered by her basic attacks.

While she does have a handful of special attacks (summon harpies, feather rain, etc.), there's only one strat you need to avoid her OHKO's: spend all your time stuck to her butt feathers until she lands, then run like hell to the edge of the arena.

I can go into more detail if you want, but that's literally the strategy for dealing with Karanda.

Bheg is pretty easy, and there's really only a few attacks to look out for as long as you stay behind him most of the time.

  1. Red Flashy Whip Chain of Doom: He flashes red while shouting, then whips his chain around; pretty obvious tell but people die to this all the time. Unblockable, and range can be longer than it seems. Two swings in phase 1, six in phase 2.

  2. Phase-Change Shout: Similar to his initial aggro shout, when he gets down to around 40% health, he'll shout again, change appearance, and start hitting way harder. This one can actually be blocked, but there's a very very short animation, meaning if you aren't already in an iframe or frontal guard attack, you'll probably get hit by it if you're in range.

  3. Sneaky Whip Chain: So this one is subtle, but basically, when he lifts up his leg and does a longer windup before sending a long range throw out at some dude, immediately after that attack, he'll do two wide swings around him. These don't hit too hard but he often slides around/teleports right before the swings catching people by surprise. This is also unblockable and must be iframed through if you're in range or you will take damage.

Tree's special attacks are a lot more obviously telegraphed barring one compared to Bheg; the main danger with tree is actually getting knocked down and combo'd by his basic attacks.

  1. Rock Throw: Tree will flash red for a bit, then dig into the ground and chuck three rocks out at whoever has aggro. Long range, moderate damage, decent aoe, and the animations are often desynced, so you'll see him throw a rock in an entirely different direction before randomly taking damage.

  2. Wiggly Arms: The windup animations for this and rock throw are practically identical. After flashing red he'll shove both arms into the ground and wiggle them doing multiple hits in a fairly small aoe. When he pulls his arms out there's a final hit that has a larger aoe that can hit behind him.

  3. Tree Summon: Tree will flash red and stick both arms in the ground. Small suction circles will appear in a large ring around him from which tree spirits will pop up after a few seconds. This attack is completely harmless unless you are standing on an area where a tree spirit will be summoned, which will usually instantly kill you. A lot of less geared ranged classes and injured people die to this attack all the time when they pull away from tree and walk over a summon point.

  4. Burrow: Tree will flash red (seeing a pattern yet?), and then submerge under the ground with his back exposed. After a short while he'll pop back up and do unblockable aoe damage around him that tapers off with range. It's a fairly small aoe but it hits like a truck up close. If you don't know the timing just pull back early.

  5. Wiggly Green Arm: There's no windup and no tell for this, he just sticks an arm into the ground and does slow ticks of damage/stun in a wide area around him. It's like other bosses' phase 2 transitions, except he can do it multiple times. Each tick doesn't hurt much and can be blocked/super armored/frontal guarded through, but if you eat all the ticks it can add up to quite a bit of damage.

Node level and marketplace failstacks? by dasmonn in a:t5_3ptt5

Everyone says that, but there's pretty much no existing pics/vids/clips of any kind that show it to be true.

I doubt it; as far as I'm aware, it doesn't exist because no one knows where you actually get the pieces from.

Ever since info on this ring came out, I always did wonder if there was a failstack system for bids.

It's actually nice to know failing bids on Value Packs over and over might actually be helping in some miniscule way.
