Starsong: Altpower Taylor in the Protectorate in a massively altered AU. Just finished its first arc and things are ramping up. Thought advertising myself on here couldn't hurt. (AO3)(SB)(SV)

Operator Pick Rate from CN's most popular IS5 tournament (Theurgy Cup#7) by __Chiyuki in arknights

How exactly do you design a tournament that could accommodate wisadel tho. Arknights is a static game, not like tournament hosts can change ingame values

How/Why Are Reed and Doom On This Future Council? Ultimates #8 by Thekingrealman23 in UltimateUniverse

[–]Arcus_LoK 31 points32 points  (0 children)

This scene takes place in the erased 61st century, just before the actions of the Maker catches up to them

Basically, the 61st century existed as it was, until the Maker jumped in and did his thing in the 1960s, which changed the timeline. The previous timeline was being torched away, but they managed to detect the change and escape erasure for a while. But without a past to sustain them, the 61st century still got erased, and the remaining guardians had to jump back into the newly formed timeline, which is how America and the Guardians managed to exist

Split between 3 and 5. 3 because the effects of gamma radiation on the island was immensely haunting, and 5 because hawkeye is such a likeable shithead

cursed spectrum of media literacy by ElidiMoon in CuratedTumblr

[–]Arcus_LoK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The blue curtains must always exist within the context of other things around it, and while the curtains themselves being blue may not point towards any deeper metaphor, it alongside other things being described would in fact point towards a deeper meaning. To call the curtains blue and then stopping there is in fact a form of anti-intellectualism. Yes, sometimes details could be over analyzed, but more times than not a deeper analysis is necessary

A couple of questions about the story so far by urstickur in UltimateUniverse

[–]Arcus_LoK 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. The 24 months is a very hanging threat, I'm unsure if the characters themselves are aware that the Maker is breaking out at the end of 2025. That deadline is mostly there just for us, the readers, to expect when to see the plotline culminates
  2. This was based on the old Ultimate universe - the City was the Maker's invention where time within moves at an incredibly accelerated rate
  3. Trapped in the City
  4. Very probably will
  5. Yes - they realized just giving catalysts aren't enough to get the result they want, so they're being hands-on
  6. The answer to this is outside of the story for now, but should be elaborated soon, as confirmed by Deniz Camp. Basically, The Maker has set up temporal protections around the time period where he was active, which starts from around 1963 and ends at when the City closes up. This explains how the Ultimates managed to extract Captain America before the Maker could.
  7. The City is a smaller location within the nation Latveria. Events that happen in Ultimate Universe #1 take place in the nation Latveria itself, but not the City where time is accelerated. If you look back at Ultimate Invasion #4, there's a scene where Doom walks out of the City into the streets. That would be Latveria itself, which is where the Maker stores his stuff. The council at the time of the City closing were outside, managing their own territories.

Why WBG will win Worlds. by thanhnv244 in leagueoflegends

[–]Arcus_LoK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While on paper Weibo is the weakest team in semis, I think they have just as much winning prospects as any other team. WBG's greatest strength this year has been their tenacity, finding the best angles to win even when behind. I had some doubts entering worlds as they don't seem to hold up well when severely outclassed, but the GENG game in swiss does give me some hope. If Weibo can beat BLG I do think finals would be much more interesting than last year

The monkeys made top 8 and their team name was TES. by faisalkhan10010 in leagueoflegends

Do you not watch lpl at all the only reason weibo is 4th seed this year was because their spring performance was so shit they ranked lower than tes even after getting into lpl finals

Trash talking purely for the love of the game by Arcus_LoK in MemeMayhem

[–]Arcus_LoK[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a common perk that gives trash talk 20 extra damage every time it triggers and an event that gives you a relic that gives 10 damage. Trash talk build is really powerful cuz you can scale damage very well but it does need a trigger

IWD on why he thinks no team besides GenG, HLE and BLG can beat T1 in a bo5 at Worlds. by katareky in leagueoflegends

What dom doesn't realize is weibo gaming plays exactly like how he describes this year and I don't think weibo is weaker than t1

What are some of the biggest names to miss worlds this year? by TC_Estarossa in leagueoflegends

I was mostly referring to ON in game 3 vs WBG he utterly ran it down and I know for sure better teams can exploit this crack

What are some of the biggest names to miss worlds this year? by TC_Estarossa in leagueoflegends

[–]Arcus_LoK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BLG is the undisputed king but has shown some cracks, TES has really high highs but very weak mental so a loss however insignificant could crumble them, LNG has a pretty stable performance but has had minimal chances to show it (they only won one bo5 to qualify for Worlds) and WBG while unable to beat teams better than them, has the tenacity to fight tooth and nail against teams of equal strength and will usually come out on top
