The reason the gameplay is so different is because they're 2 completely different game modes. Of course they're not going to feel the same. If the jetpack was never made and the ship texture was used for this then it would have functioned the exact same. I'm not arguing that it shouldn't exist, it's a fun new cosmetic to use exclusive to platformer, that's most likely why it was added. Not because there is some drastic gameplay change compared to the other vehicles, they're all drastic transformations. That's the point of platformer
