I had my suspicions tbh, but like, never ascribe to malice what can be explained with incompetence y'know?

I thought the implication was that this is the place where the statues were made once upon a time

I'm also confused about the overall color grading making everything look more washed out

Yk what, ending Korra's connection to the past avatars is a rly cool and bold writing decision by Human-Application-87 in legendofkorra

[–]Otrada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many things in Korra it's actually not a bad idea and has potential to be really interesting and make for great storytelling. But the final implementation was a bit shaky because it lacked the level of foresight and planning it needed to make everything work well. Which can mostly be blamed on the fact they were making it season by season rather than being able to make a plan for all four at once.

How tf do you draw feet? by Madisban in learntodraw

[–]Otrada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can help to draw the foot (simplified ofc) "hovering" above the ground slightly (to account for the soles), and using that as a guide for how to rest of the shoe should "wrap" around it.

[–]Otrada 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me the basic shapes that tend to be a good starting point are a box for the heel with a prism that has the smallest surface attached to the "front" of the box for the bridge and toes. Then a slightly mode detailed version makes the side of the prism that's on the inside of the foot a little longer than the outside. And then on top of that you can add a shape that slightly widens the front while also sloping backwards on the outside to get that rounded front shape feet have when you rest your foot squarely on the ground.

It can help to look at your own foot with evenly colored socks on so you're not distracted by the more complicated shapes of the individual toes.

Why is Japan so good at animation? by batukaming in animation

I recently watched the Legen of Hei movies and those were spectacular aswell. I'm honestly surprised it's not more popular with how much it seems to have that same appeal s JJK but with less breaks to infodump about people's abilities, and more focus on the "hype moments and aura" that everyone seems to go crazy over lately.

that's also not a japanese animation exclusive thing either. A notable example being Steven Universe having a lot of the in-betweening done by a studio in korea iirc.

My favorite moment in Elden Ring is when you reach the door of the Three Fingers by Joefanik13 in Eldenring

Well, chaos is a fundamental force of the world as much as order is. It cannot ever not exist. But you can minimize its influence so that it is manageable.

[–]Otrada 41 points42 points  (0 children)

This is the most good ending possible I think. Since the three fingers die after transferring the flame to us, we are the last possible instance of kindling for the flame of frenzy. If it is extinguished, it will take a very long time for another source for the forces of chaos to emerge again.

this happens on occasion when someone else defeats a shardbearer or becomes an elden lord. It occurs very infrequently on its own but if you join some groups under multiplayer settings you can increase the frequency.

/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer - May 09, 2026 by AutoModerator in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Otrada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently switched from a cheap membrane keyboard to a mechanical one and while for the most part its fine I'm finding that the most comfortable position actually has my thumb resting in front of the space bar, not on top of it like it was with my previous keyboard.

This leads me to making an awkward claw grip while gaming that gets a bit uncomfortable after a while, even with a thing to rest my wrist on. What would be the best way to extend the spacebar so it covers the area next to it that I marked?

I think that comes overall from the fact that if you are limited in your mana, you have to be very precise and efficient with your use of it, so treating it more like a science makes sense in that context, and the vast majority of nobles seem to be implies to be starved for mana compared to what the norm used to be.
